I like to read. Mostly murder/mystery/thriller. In fact, the next book I'm going to read is titled Death in Holy Orders. I really like detective stuff. I watch TV/Movies. I'm a nut for some of the garbage on MTV. I like to collect series
on DVD and VHS. Right now I have seasons 1 and 4 of Ranma 1/2; seasons 1,2, and 3 of Friends; seasons 1 and 2 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer; and seasons 1,2, and 3 of Xena: Warrior Princess. Ummmmmm, I've been thinking of writing my autobiography up to the age of 22, yes that much significant stuff has happened and it actually could fit into one of the book genres. I even have a title but I'm not going to share it yet. Hmmm, something that doesn't involve games....shopping..no that invovles games...ah, sleeping! -------------------- Elena Indurain Currently Playing: Suikoden II |

I sometimes play guitar in my down time. I am generally pretty lousy at it, and it's an on-again off-again hobby. Useful at get-togethers sometimes if people are tipsy and I decide to volunteer to break out a song or two, but otherwise nothing to speak of.
Fun/boring fact, my fiance tells me that my guitar playing on our second date was the moment she knew our relationship would be a big deal, because I hadn't played in front of anyone before (and made sure she knew that!). Still, I need a formal trainer to get better at this point, as well as a drive to keep playing. This post has been edited by TheEvilEye on 12th January 2017 19:24 |

I used to take a lot of photos. I don't so much any more. Parenting isn't much of a hobby, either.

I think most people here know I love to play dress up and go to conventions. It's relatively new for me and it's a lot of fun albeit a bit expensive. Working on costumes and wigs, playing with makeup, making friends in the community, traveling, is all a blast. Still trying to figure out a lineup for the next convention.

Hobbies... hobbies...
I'm a professional actor but still enjoy scratch nights & improv (usually unpaid). So I guess it's both my profession, obsession, vocation & hobby. I write the occassional short screenplay and um, is drinking a hobby? |

Seems like now days I don't really have any hobbies. I used to cycle a lot but don't have the time for it. I would like to do more art (and submit stuff to CoN), but again that's on the backburner. If you're wanting to see some of my old stuff, http://noelle-chan.deviantart.com

Current hobbies... Wow, I can't think of a ton. I've been binge watching The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently.... Not sure why, but I keep hitting play next episode. I've just been rolling with it. I play Ps4, DS and PC games. I've been playing Skyrim: Special edition recently. All the moddddsssss. Other than that I pretty much just work or sleep.
I've always been into reading. Historical fiction and fantasy, mostly. I've been on a reading hiatus recently due to work. I also greatly enjoy singing! This post has been edited by Brunettepudding on 3rd February 2017 05:02 |

Wow, this was a thread from 2003!
I knit and crochet, and I love to read. I used to love to write, and wrote a lot, but I lost interest in that sometime in 2012 or so. Knitting and crocheting has sort of taken over that. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

My latest hobby is bouldering which is basically rock climbing without a harness. Technical climbs that aren't so high up you'd be in danger if you fell as there are safety mats. I recommend it, great fun. Climbing is a lot more challenging than it might look, it requires good technique and each climb is a puzzle so you need to think how you are going to tackle each one. Very good social activity as well.
I also like cycling, weight lifting, reading fiction, scifi or fantasy mostly. Also back into miniatures at the moment, there's a lot of board game D&D hybrids coming out at the moment that use miniatures. I'm attempting to paint these, will see how I get on. Most of my spare time still gets spent on video games though. PS4 and PS Vita. Might pick up a VR headset eventually. Maybe. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

Mine are working on our youtube channel or collecting trophies on video games I like. Work takes up a lot of my time so I can't fit in anything else. :/

Dungeons & Dragons has been my number one hobby since the early '90s, and it's still that today. And my creative writing hobby has gone from hobby to academic focus, but it still feels like a hobby in all the best ways, so that's nice.
I was doing a lot climbing for a while, but I injured my back last year (not climbing) and haven't been able to get back to climbing since. |

Quote (Elena99 @ 4th February 2017 13:56) Wow, this was a thread from 2003! I knit and crochet, and I love to read. I used to love to write, and wrote a lot, but I lost interest in that sometime in 2012 or so. Knitting and crocheting has sort of taken over that. This is me as well, although I also don't read as much as I used to. I don't know if it's a side effect from meds or what, but I find reading novels difficult these days. As for writing, other than various posts around the internet I don't write anymore. It makes me sad sometimes. I do a LOT of knitting and crochet, though! I posted some of my Final Fantasy amigurumi in this thread. Currently working on some more (Rain and Lasswell, the two main characters from FFBE) as well as knitting a shawl for myself. -------------------- Watch me play games on Twitch! Schedule: Mondays & Thursdays: Final Fantasy VII -Rebirth- Saturdays: Final Fantasy XIV Side Quests (or maybe more Rebirth, we'll see!) 7:30pm - 10:30pm Central or thereabouts |

So, I have total hobby ADD and have more interests that I can even find myself able to enjoy but I can't seem to pick one to quit.
Aside from my video game interests, I collect Lego, Sylvanian Famlies/Calico Critters, watch anime, read here and there though nowhere near as much as I did when I was a teenager. I have Lego blog and a SF/CC blog but they don't get near the attention they should. My brother and I are total nostalgia junkies. We love collecting, looking up, and talking about old games, toys, and memories from our 80s-90s childhood. We go to toy shows sometimes and find stuff. We're actually going to one at the end of September and the last time we went I picked up some new in box FFIX figures that i display on a shelf. I saw some people mention crochet and knitting and amigurumi and I'd totally like to try that, I also want to learn to hand sew some clothes but I'm trying to be realistic because video games and my two major toy hobbies are all expensive and time consuming so it might not be realistic to add more hobbies. But we'll see how things to when I finish school. -------------------- Velvet17 Current Favorite Game - Tales of Berseria Currently Playing: Final Fantasy XII (PS4), To the Moon (Steam), (Persona 5 (PS4), Miitopia (3DS) Recently Finished - Skyborn (Steam) Plays Final Fantasy XiV on Balmung Server with Character Moko Fehoko |

I don't really know how to characterize my music. Is it a hobby? Is it my vocation? I don't make money at it. But I'm constantly just doing it for the sake of doing it. I'm getting better at it too.
I sold 99% of my gaming consoles/games/accessories the other day, and got a new mixing board, two microphones, a harmonica, an overdrive pedal, and a mic stand... I do still have a ton of games on my PC, and an Xbox 360 Wireless controller to play them with, but I feel like musicking lately, stretching my limits, as you'll hear if you check ^ the Mark Knopfler cover. I didn't think I was capable of doing the last arpegiated 32nd note stuff at the end, but lo and behold, I listened to the song about 20 times while playing along, and when I went to record, the first time I went for the final solo is what you hear on there. There were 8 hours of practice beforehand and a lifetime of hearing the song too It is after all 2 years older than I am. -------------------- X is blue. |
