In the effort of saving me the time of responding to PMs here, Facebook posts, tweets, YouTube comments, etc., here's a quick thread:

There was a brief period of poor communication from our hosting company and me; without going into the details too much, the company took some steps late last night in an effort to help the health of the server, and I wasn't aware of them, and it resulted in the site's account on our virtual private server being suspended. It wasn't just CoN, one of my development accounts and one of my clients' websites was also impacted.

The situation was resolved within five minutes of me finding out about it - good thing I didn't sleep in this morning - and it shouldn't happen again as I've now spoken with the hosting company about making such changes during business hours, not when an old man like me is asleep in bed.

It has nothing to do with any users of CoN, and none of you were ever banned. The messaging "this account has been suspended" is meant for the people who run the site, not the users, so none of you need to worry unless you act like an idiot.

that wasn't exactly an enjoyable thought. I went to go access the site around midnight and I got that message. I thought I had gotten banned, and I hated the feeling. Thank you for fixing this problem!
