Here's one that will be personally painful for me. Cape Caem has been a very pleasant surprise for me in this tournament, knocking off FF4's Theme of Love and the Distant Worlds favorite Ronfaure from FF11 to get here. Trisection has already killed two of my personal favorites, Matoya's Cave from FF1 and Dust to Dust from FF13.

Befitting a game in which human relationships are a focus throughout, Cape Caem gets a lot of play in some very emotional situations. All that being said, though, this track wasn't selected for the last competition, so there's no way to predict how it will do!

If you want a game's soundtrack that is mainly about war, Final Fantasy Tactics is where you go. One war ends, another begins, skirmishes crop up between armies and individuals. As one of the many themes that play over the top of individual battles in Tactics, you're introduced to Trisection as soon as the swords come out, and it immediately sets the tone.

Cape Caem is nice.

Trisection is epic. Rhythmic upheaval, using a five-beat meter for much of the track -- political upheaval. Melodic tension -- narrative tension. Shifting harmonies -- on the lookout for enemies and wary of betrayal.

My vote goes to Trisection.

I took Trisection for one simple reason, and that is For Zeakden. It was that battle that I realized what kind of story Final Fantasy Tactics was going to tell, and it wasn't going to be a happy ending.

And **** Algus.

It appears to me that Trisection is one of those songs that you have to experience in context to appreciate (similar to You're Not Alone I suppose). Otherwise it sounds like many, many other orchestral battle themes throughout the history of JRPGs.
Caem is capable of being appreciated on it's own, so I'm going with that.

I'm really surprised that Cape Caem made it this far. It's relaxing, but it gets repetitive and boring. Trisection is much more varying and interesting.
