You should still be able to capture monsters pretty much anywhere and no, the Dark Aeons don't always deal 9999 damage, sometimes they deal more!

It's never too late to capture monsters (at least, until you get to the Tower of the Dead, but that's immediately before the final battles). In fact, you'd have to be training like crazy in order to fight the big Creations monsters in the Arena prior to the fight with Yunalesca; aside from capturing, you'd be best off doing a few of the other sidequests before you go up against the Creations, especially the ultimate weapons. If you're talking about Ribbons, I assume you're playing the Europe version of the game, which means that the Dark Aeons are available to you. Another option, if your party is strong enough, is to equip two strong characters with weapons containing the ability First Strike (act first in battle) and to then equip your fastest character with a Capture weapon. That's how I did it here in the good ol' North America land. However - all of the original Aeons can also exceed the 9999 attack limit. Aeon attack limits each correspond to a character's attack limit, meaning that if you obtain the ultimate weapon (each of which contains the ability Break Attack Limit) for a character, their related Aeon will be able to break the limit as well. Here are the pairings: Valefor - Yuna Ifrit - Wakka Ixion - Kimahri Shiva - Lulu Yojimbo - Auron Bahamut, Anima and the Magus Sisters are inherently capable of breaking the damage limit. And Aeons don't like Tidus or Rikku, apparently. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! First of all, don't forget that you can't add additional abilities to ultimate weapons, so you may want to tread carefully so that you don't end up wasting your time. That said, Triple AP is still very useful, if you plan on putting it on a secondary weapon used exclusively for leveling purposes. You won't be able to fight anything terribly strong with such a secondary weapon (if only because you'll be without the Break Damage Limit ability), but it'll be useful for finishing off the Sphere Grid. On the other hand, I don't think Triple Overdrive is terribly useful. First of all, most the the ultimate weapons have an Overdrive-boosting ability; secondly, most characters' Overdrives (with the major exception of Wakka) become not terribly useful. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Does anyone here like the other mini games? and why?
Dodging lightning isn't hard at all, just takes forever. The chocobo race, is amongst the most frustrating, and difficult mini games. Its so unfair how those homicidal homing pidgeons appear out of nowhere. The balloon placement is random, and there is a good chance that they will appear on the trainers side. She also is slightly faster than you, since she always gets them first. The butterfly game is slightly hard, because of the depth perception. Some butterflies blend in with the background, and you barely have enough time.Blitzball is nowhere near as hard as the others, but it can be the most time consuming. Any of you got good tips on beating one eye? I want to level up. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |

Amendum: In the PM you sent, you mentioned pairing Triple AP with Triple Overdrive for massive experience - this is only two thirds of the equation however, as you must also have the Overdrive->AP ability on the same weapon. You need the Overdrive->AP ability in order to make the Triple Overdrive ability worthwhile at all. My apologies for not recognizing that this was what you meant.
Other than Blitzball (which I've played quite a bit of), I don't really play the mini-games. I've played the chocobo race a bit, but I'm not nearly good enough to get the 0 score, so I didn't really put much effort into trying to reach it. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! I succeeded, but with lots of swearing and frustration.I also beat the butterfly mini game, and have kihmari's fully upgraded celestial weapon.
I have overdrive->ap ability, just need triple overdrive. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Neil Degrasse Tyson. |
