The Samarai is my favorite class in FFV. !GilToss comes in handy when you have lots of excess money (especially against the final boss).

I would choose Mimic, cause it allows you to have 3 slots of whatever you want. I usually use a Mime with X-Magic, Call and White so I could call Bahamut twice. Mimic also gives almost all abilities an un-employed person could obtain from his previous jobs.

I found White Mages the best out of them all. They healed my party and served very well in all the battles I were in (except Abductor he was just TOO easy). Even if I didn't NEED to use them every battle I would need to replenish my HP soemtime. ANd if a town wasn't near I either made someone a White Mage briefly to restore my HP and status'; they also save a waste of GP by using pointless items such as Phoenix Down and Potions, etc. etc.
But - although I found White Mages the best, I also found my favourite job being the Lancer. they are just TOO cool to be ignored! -------------------- Enuo - Horror Elder's Tree - Birthplace X-Death - Exceeding Death Neo X-Death - New Exceeding Death X-Death Nightmare - Exceeding Death's Possibilities OR shadow Exodus - Exit or Departure OR leaving one's homeland FFV - Bounce |

My personal favorite class in FF 5 would have to be the Dragoon. I always loved the dragoons in every game I come by. Jump is a must have ability, I think.
As a plus to it your main character looks almost identical to Kain in FF4 -------------------- Music. defines. society. |

In one of my last playthroughs, I discovered the versatility of a well trained Blue Mage, and although I still don't see a lot of practical use for them in many games, FFV seems a good game to institute the job. Especially since the blue magic available in FFV puts to shame the magics seen in many of the other games of the series (with the exception of Enemy Skill Materia in FFVII), especially with the uber broken combos of Vampire and ????? or DrkShok and Lv 5 Death. Massive Pwnage either way.

I agree that Blue Wizard is one of the best jobs of FFV. They are so terrifying if used correctly and it is not particularly difficult to obtain some of the heavy-hitting spells (Vampire, Aqua Breath, Lvl5 Death).
However, as most of the people who know me are aware, my favorite class is the Berserker. They command so much power and you don't have to worry about controlling them. I always have at least one Berserker or something with the Berserk ability on my team at any given point since they are so dominant. With some Haste support, it's unfair. Truly unfair. -------------------- Is PJ |

I heard someone say that the strength of the Monk is off the charts. I would agree, but add an addendum:
The Dragoon's strength is over NINE THOUSAAAND! (sorry, couldn't resist) Anyways; Bartz is always my heavy hitter (I named him Orion for reasons unknown), so he went from Knight to Mystic Knight to Dragoon. Bartz is always my dragoon; who else can look like Mr. Badass Kain Highwind himself? ~EDIT~ Also, I have to say that I always train Galuf in Black Magery in preparation for when he gets swapped for Krile. The original black mage rules, and anyone who disagrees should be shown this! ~EDIT2~ I was wondering; has anyone tried dual-wielding Twin Lances and using X-Fight? How many attacks would you get in that case? Logically it would be 16, but that doesn't quite make sense. This post has been edited by kardar233 on 6th November 2008 05:48 |

If you're playing the GBA FFV, the award has to go to the broken-ness of the Mystic Knight. I remember a huge argument back in the day about how Magic Sword didn't affect your weapon when you used X-Fight. I'm pretty sure they "fixed"/"broke" that in the GBA game, as my Thundaga enchanted Ragnaroks (stolen off of Ex-Death) dropped Omega Weapon in one round of X-Fight.
I still stand by my Blue Mages. But that point of M-Knights needed to be made. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Rangers. Bows are among my favorite weapon type, and !Animals is surprisingly useful. It has saved my life quite a few times during my FFV Random Job Challenges.

Red Mage. Hands down. Black/White magic, decent attack power, non-wimpy weapons. I also like Mystic Knight and Summoner, because I love magic.
Edit I just discovered Mimes. I think I have said enough on that point. This post has been edited by RavenLalonde on 2nd August 2013 04:17 |
