(Mario RPG is a squaresoft game right?)

I wouldve made this a poll but the limit is 10 choices and theres more than ten bosses in that game so I cant put them all.

So who was your favorite boss?

I don't think it is a squaresoft game, but we'll see what happens to this. Probably just be put in general gaming.

Favorite boss? Exor (big sword thing) was cool, because, come on, you're fighting a gigantic sword. Smithy was pretty fun. Valentina, or whatever her name is, with Dodo, was one of my favorites. But in the end, it's all about Culex. Come on, FF4 BOSS MUSIC! Fun fun fun.

Culex is the most fun in terms of difficulty, followed by Jinx (the third time), but I think the best boss in the game is the Axem Rangers. Come on, they're easily the funniest, you gotta love their lame excuses to quit.

I liked Bowyer. He had a psychotic sense of humor. I love the way he talks. "Shoot these arrows, I shall. Make more statues, I will." [reminds me of Yoda] But I liked his attack scheme. Rather than just be ordinary and attack, attack, attack, he disables the X, Y, or A button so you can't use that form of attack. That was a cool battle

But if we're talking about a challenge, Culex and the crystals are where it's at. Easily the hardest battle in the game. But everyone needs a challenge. It was good that they added some Square flavor to the game [it'd be a little bit of a shame if they didn't considering they made it ^_^]

so, yeah, Bowyer and Culex

In terms of humor, I thought Punchinello was randomly hilarious. How can you not love "The name's Nello.. PUNCHINELLO!"?

The Axem Rangers were definitely the coolest, followed by the big shark guy (Johnny? I don't remember).

Culex was definitely the most difficult.

Aw man, now I want to play SMRPG again.  :(

Oh jeez.. I heart this game. I can't remember the bosses though. The only ones I remember was the one guy in the sewers, the axem rangers no doubt, and the monk karate ninja guy you fight in that one town. Geno, Bowser, Mario team is your god. Bruhahaha.

Mario RPG was a lot of fun to play!  The gameplay was fun, the characters were outrageous, and the off-beat humor truly was classic.  I usually stuck with combinations of Geno, Mario, Bowser, and the Princess, simply because Mallow gets outclassed at the later points of the game.

In terms of difficulty, Culex was easily the best.  Each of his crystal companions had outrageously high stamina, and he himself had a whopping attack and magic attack power.

In terms of character, I liked so many of the different bosses that it's very  hard to choose.  The Axem Rangers were great, simply because of their humorous excuses (and satirical resemblance to those odd Power Rangers).  Boomer looked pretty cool, and his depressing, samurai-esque defeat was hilarious.  Bowyer's strange speech and Belome's hunger were quite funny.  Punchinello's James Bond impression was interesting, and his suicidal final attack was very humorous.  I also liked Bundt and Raspberry, simply because I found it extremely entertaining to engage in a life-or-death battle against an enormous living wedding cake.

I also liked the enemies who weren't really bad guys.  Jinx was a surprising challenge, especially the third time around with his instant-death "Quicksilver" attack.  Jonathan Jones provided a unique battle (one-on-one), and his triumphant return against Yardovich was thrilling.  Booster, the Princess' crazed suitor, was simply hilarious with his ridiculously idiosyncratic behavior.  And Klepto the crocodile thief played a wonderful role as pseudo-gangster.

All in all, Mario RPG was a very fun game.

My favorite were the Axem Rangers, their comments were amusing.  Basically ditto to what others have said.

And I loved Culex, since he had FF4 music and the four crystals.

my top three were the axem rangers cause they were cool and had funny comments, croco the bandit crocodile was a fun boss to fight, hes like an ultos(FF6) type character and i like bosses like that where you keep coming across him at unexpected times, and last was bowyer, he was the only boss that had the power to cut off one of your options which made the battle difficult, challenging but fun.

Boomer looked pretty cool, and his depressing, samurai-esque defeat was hilarious.

Someone refresh my memory, I don't remember any boss named Boomer.  Was he guarding one of the stars, was he one of Booster or Smithy's minions, or was he just one of the random bosses that you fought?

Two of my favorite bosses were Knife Guy and Grate Guy.  They were just really random, and the casino was kinda cool, too.

Boomer is who you fight when you enter Bowser's castle (at the end of the game) and is standing on top of the chandelier above Bowser's throne.  He's stupid easy, but he looked cool.

Hardest boss was unquestionably Culex, but I usually decided to get the treasure with the key instead.

The Axem Rangers were cool, and funny.  Gotta love it.  Jinx was awesome and the Jinx Belt ownz.  Jonathan Jones was pretty cool I'll admit, especially how he came back to help afterwards.  Punchinello was funny, and he killed himself to boot.

Mario RPG was the bomb, I played it many times.  It's hard to get all of the secrets though.  Remember kiddies, the Lazy Shell ownz the world.  Yes, and I could've sworn that the crocodile was named Croco, not Klepto!

I knew I'd get that question at some time or another.  :)

Boomer is a mini-boss at the very end of Bowser's Castle (the second time you go through, on your way to Smithy's Factory).  You have to fight him on the lofty chandeliers where you fought Bowser at the beginning of the game.  He's something of a samurai spoof; he attacks with a sword and wears a comical satire of the traditional armor.  Come to think of it, he looked pretty cool.  He has two forms: Boomer Red and Boomer Blue.  Boomer Red's offense is great, but his defense is lacking; Boomer Blue's defense is nigh-impenetrable, but he can barely scratch you.  Despite this, he's a real pushover.

The humorous part is at the end, once you've defeated him.  He feels that he's been dishonored (since he talked so much smack before the battle), and instead of allowing you the luxury of finishing him off, he salvages a bit of his dignity by hurling himself off the top of the chandelier.  His tearful farewell speech is quite funny.

well HP wise Smithy beats Culex, culex has 4320 and smithy has 8040, the only thing that makes the culex battle harder than the smithy battle are those darn crystals...

I only managed to kill two crystals..  -_-

I found Jinx (the 3rd battle) to be much harder than Culex. Culex was a pushover, IMO. And, I now remember who Boomer is! He was hilarious!

The thief's name is Croco, not Klepto, and Kappa, the key to the treasure is different from the shiny stone used to open Culex's door, so you can do both.

Dodo is the best boss, hands down.  He's just so fun, and you can't help but love the minigame where he tries to peck you.

Runner-up is Mack.  The knife.  What a pun.

Great game!

Ah, quite true.  I must have him mixed up with someone else, then.  Thanks for pointing that out.

Jinx's Quicksilver attack always gave me problems until I figured out how to beat it.  (Pressing the A button right before he hits you will cause you to time-dodge the attack, meaning that your character's HP will be reduced to one, as opposed to immediate death.)

Another great pair of bosses were Dodo and Valentina, simply because they had personality.  I also liked Knife Guy and Grate Guy.  I got a real kick out of Grate Guy's Casino, particularly because it's nearly impossible to win anything worthwhile.  Most of the games (especially Blackjack!) are rigged, and those that you can win yield nothing but trash.

Ah well, It's been a while, eh?  So anyway I was right with the Croco thang.  Woo, go Kappa.

Dodo was fun to fight because he was so stupid easy.  I found that the trick that whoever is in the middle of your fighting party gets taken away for the one-on-one fight.  Yeah, it took me a couple times through the game to figure that one out.  Kappa's a smart little boy.  That's what his special teachers told him.

I actually once had the patience to win Grate Guy's look away game 100 times, to win the Star thingy.  The star does 100 damage to all enemies, and never runs out.  Useful for the princess when no healing is needed... but not worth playing and winning look away a hundred times.  :)

Hmm... most of the bosses weren't that tough.  I guess the axem rangers get best boss.  Anyway, I really liked the magma dragon thing.  Sure, it doesn't have a personality, but it was nice seeing something that looked dangerous but still silly by that time in the game.
