Which of these monsters are the strongest, in your opinion, or which gave you the most trouble?

Tonberry - Likes to counter with Everyone's Grudge/Karma, and if he gets too close you're dead. Plain and simple. (Tonberry, Master Tonberry, Tonberry King, Pug, etc)

Malboro - Likes to use Bad Breath to cause lots of status ailments, leaving you to die from poison as you lose control of your party. (Malboro, Great Malboro, Evil Oscar, etc)

Behemoth - Legendary monster. He has powerful attacks and high HP. (Behemoth, King Behemoth, SrBehemoth, etc)

Bomb - Big floating ball of fire. Like to use fire elemental attacks (duh), and if you hit him enough, he may just self-destruct on you! (Bomb, Balloon, Grenade, Explosive, etc)

Dragon - Another legendary monster. Very high HP and powerful attacks, but like to use magic and "Breath" attacks as well. (Red Dragon, Tyrannosaur, Brachosaur, Hexadragon, etc)

Floating Eye - Low HP, low defense. What it lacks in strength, it makes up for in skills. Likes to cause confusion, doom, and other status ailments, all while being hard to hit. (Veteran, Ahriman, Floating Death, etc)

Iron Giant - Powerhouses capable of killing you in one shot due to their huge swords. Pure attack, yet high defense and high HP. (Iron Giant, Gemini, etc)

Cactuar - Little cacti who run around and make high pitched laughs. Also incredibly hard to hit, despite their low HP. However, they also have a secret weapon - their needles! What started out as 1000 Needles/Blowfish has become 10,000 Needles (FF8) and eventually 99,999 Needles (FFX)! (Cactuar, Jumbo Cactuar, Cactrot, etc)

Chimera - Mythical creatures with high HP and strong physical strength. However, they are experts with magic, and tend to use each of their animal parts to use different skills. (Chimera, ChimeraBrain, etc)

Flan - Big blobs of jelly, packed with magic. They also have extremely high defense, making them hard to kill. (Flan, Pudding, Thunder Flan, etc)

Worm - Not your regular earthworms. We're talking GIGANTIC! Juggernauts with extremely high HP, they like to swallow your party members, and sometimes not even spit them back out! (Land Worm, Sand Worm, Zone Eater, Hoover, etc)

Probably Tonberries, since they just kills me in one hit, a group of tonberries are harder than master Tonberry --;; (hint: only happnes in FF6 ':o' )
but when I first fought Chimera was when I first learned about elements in FF series because it is immune to many elements. (And aqua rake waaaaaaaa ':p' )

malboros suck. those ailments are a real pain to get rid of. and then, once you do, he just does it again. '>_<'

Heh, for some reason, I had good luck with those malboros.
They never used bad breath on me in FF6, and FF9  ':E' (althought that means I won't be learning that spells '>_>')

in FF6 I fought this monster with alot of counters on it, it was located in WoR in the cave on the veldt, once i took only two party members there and died from all those counters he has on him, is that monster on the list? if it is i guess ill choose that...

you can block most attacks but you cant block counters unless you have high levels or good equipment..

Is that an Allo Ver? A big skeleton guy that gives you Tiger Claws? If so, does he have any alter egos in other FF games?

Is that a skeleton riding this skeleton animal? If so, I think that was in FF4 as well. The Dark Bone and Dark Fossil in the Lunar Core. [of course, I could be wrong]

ya well that was hard too, that guy had a bunch of doom spells. but the one im talking about is called Rhyos. when it was close to dying it did a bunch of counters. first it started with surge, then revenge, then giga volt, then aqua rake, then another surge, ya so he does those spells. the order can change, and each did around 3000 each, i guess thats not bad if your level 99! but im not gonna level up to 99 just to get shadow.

you're probably thinking of a Chimera [or the one you're thinking of is a Rhyos]... i believe that's what you're talking about. if not, then oh well.
Chimeras have been in a lot of FF's

I voted for Behemoth, since I think consistently it's the monster I feel least wimpy running from (I never actually beat one in FFX, I don't think)

Tonberries are tough, but nothing beats the damn Malboro's in FFX. They're sheer difficulty in FFX more than makes up for their appearances in the last 9 games combined (even if they weren't in all of them).

Well, obviously, most of the damage from Tonberries is based on your number of kills, or in FF6, steps.  In this regard, high powered parties can still have a decent challenge when fighting them.

I voted for marlboros.  The thing about them though is that they are really sporadic.  In FF4, the breath easn't that bad, especially easytype where all it takes is a heal.  In FF6, they hardly ever use it.  In FF7, they just about never use it.  In FFT, they are total pushovers.  In FF9, they aren't very tough at all, and they don't look tough either.  However, in FF8 and FF10, they are completely and totally deadly in most cases.

Tonberries for me have always been a pushover.  As long as I kept my cool and used strong attacks, they never gave me any trouble.

Dragons would be my particular bane.  I mostly base this on my experiences in FF4 and the Brachosaur in particular from FF6.

forget that, they're just, creepy, they slowly walk torward you. pauseing, taking a step backward, turning to advance on a different party member, then after 5 minutes of sweating buckets, boink. yer dead.

creepy, just creepy
