Whenever I play Chrono Trigger or continue on with my new game +, every Power/Speed/Magic tab I find, goes to Crono. He also gets first pick of all the best gear and accessories.

Am I the only one that plays this way? Does everyone else spread the love around?

I should mention that I do the same thing with Edgar. I hate Gau and always leave him with nothing but the bare minimum.

I mean to spread them around, but in practical terms, this means I never use them, since I'm never sure how to spread them around.

Crono gets power tabs, because he's already ridiculously powerful and pushing physical damage with him is easy due to his high HP and excellent weapons.
Lucca gets speed tabs, because those little chicken legs don't move very fast, does they precious.
Marle gets magic tabs because I like winning battles and your HP reaching zero is not how that happens.
Frog will get a power or speed tab if Crono/Lucca have had enough, based on my gut feeling. I don't count or anything.
Ayla basically is a stinger missile that you throw at the enemy and forget about doing anything. Holy crap, she's...biting a stone tyrannosaur on the neck and scratching its eyes out. Um...I'm glad she's on our side.
Robo will get speed tabs only if Lucca and Frog have had enough based on my gut.
Magus ...um...this is easy right? Same logic as Crono, but with magic tabs instead.

I should say that Confuser (or whatever it's called now) is based on Crono's magic power I believe...am I wrong? So boosting his magic power will make it better? Or did I confuse myself with a shoddy memory based on not having played in a while?

This is my logic but I take it one step further. He is my front line warrior, my assassin, my nuke...

As soon as I learn Luminaire, no other character exists except to supplement my boy Crono. Hes low on mana? Quick, Marle, instead of finishing off the enemy with Ice 2, give Crono an ether.

Pump Crono to the max and you don't need a full party.

I prefer to divide tabs evenly. I also play as if I was going to level everyone up to 99 even if I don't. So Power Tabs have no function other than eventually getting that shiny ** for Marle and Lucca. Marle gets no more than 3 Magic Tabs while Lucca and Magus don't get any as they don't need them to reach max Magic. Once one character gets a Speed Tab, they'll only get another one after all the others have one.

I do stick the Rage Band on Crono for the first half of the game though only because he's forced so there's less shuffling of equipment. Moon Armor usually goes to whoever needs the magic defense most.

Damn cuz, Crono is already pretty OP even if you don't do all that. His strength should max out on its own, and he's already one of the fastest (along with Magus and Ayla). I give him a few power tabs early on but then I mostly just give him magic tabs to balance him out. The other characters need tabs WAY worse than he does. That's just how I roll. But since you're running Crono the way you do, you might as well go ahead and give him a haste helm too. Rainbow+Frenzy Band=Crono Wins. Fatality.

I tend to divide the tabs evenly.

(I think that's pretty much my strategy in all games that offer stat boosters. I know that specialists have all the fun with min-maxing, and I'm definitely susceptible to min-maxing, but in games that don't let you farm such things, I'll always take having an egalitarian mix of power over a handful of supersoldiers. And, of course, if I can farm such things, you can be sure I will.)

I usually break them up pretty evenly. I've developed a strong aversion to min-maxing over the years but I do tend to advance characters based on their 'class' Heavy Magic users will get magic tabs and the like, but since I usually stick to the same endgame 3 of Frog, Magus and Crono (my bois!) They end up with the lion's share.

I tend to forget I even have tabs to distribute until late into the game but Chrono gets most of them.
