I've just gotten the jobs from the Fire Crystal. What's the best place to train for ability points at this point in the game?

2nd or 3rd world.....the enemy is Objet d'Art...Location:Castle of Bal-B2. The easy way to beat them...Cast Level 5 Death on them. In groups of 5, they give 8 a.p...while in groups of 2, they give 4 a.p. I mastered all the jobs here...trust me, its worth it. When u run out of mp, switch casters. This strategy is foolproof!
NOTE:It goes much quicker if your CASTER has a pair of hermes sandals. Be sure to swap casters often. And when u run out of mp, go to the inn. And Save often. Before doing this...I recommend that you master the Blue Mage Job...It helps. Let me know how this works out for ya. Since you are still in the first world, check out the jacohl (?) cave, it is north of the jacohl town. There you will run into nut eaters, which are easy to beat, and skull eaters, which can beat out the crap out of your party member's stomaches. Use elementarist ability or control (I would prefer elementarist) to get rid of him, but he is dangerous anyway. Each fight with a skull eater is rewarded with 5 ABP. And better don't use magic against those enemies.

Either way, on the first world, the best place to get AP is in the ship graveyard... in the place where there are 3 chests (2 antidotes and a Phoenix Down)... the encounters there are easy and many times the battles are against 2 golems which give 3 ABP. The Jacohl Cave is a good place, but you need to be prepared, the Skull Eaters are way too powerful. To take care of the Skull Eaters you can use: 1- Terrain ability (Geomancer's) and hope it is the stalactite or willy wisp. 2.- Control ability (Monster Trainer's) and hope it controls the Skull Eater. 3.- Fire, Water or Lightning scrolls. (Ninja's) It always hits and it is a physical attack. I still recommend the ship graveyard, though. In addition to the 3 ABP of the Golems, you can sometimes win an Elixir from them. -------------------- Yep, I'm here. |

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I was doing the shipyard method but switched over to the Jacohl cave method. I have all 4 people using terrain so usually i kill the skulleater before he can touch me

My method for world 2 and 3 kills though...I mastered every job this way...including several that I never even touched!

In World 3 I reccomend fighting in the most southwest part of the world... in the sea. There you will face Silvunes (which give you 25 ABP) and other creatures that give you around 8~13ABP... along lots of money. =)

You don't even take damage in my method though...I hated the sea monsters.

There is a summon there Those gargoyles give quite alot of ap as well, but take time to bring down. You are talking about Odin. It is underneath where Galuf's castle lands in the merged worlds. You can access the gargoyles as a cave prior to this, however, I don't know if it's available as early as after the fire crystal. However, there are some correct statements here: those gargoyles give some decent AP, especially for their time of access (early) in the game. However, the 2 most vital things about these gargoyles are these: 1. They are stone. The item Soft "cures" this in the same way that a Phoenix Down will "heal" a zombie. So I don't want to hear about hard to kill, but you can complain about expensive to kill. 2. Take a thief and STEAL from them! You get Twin Lances, which offer a Double Attack for each attack. The attack power on them is weak, but with a dual hit weapon, it's equivalent to about 150% of a normal weapon... And hey - Ninjas can equip 2 at once... That's 4 attacks for the price of 1. Feels nice to do a comment again. Haven't done that in awhile. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH!
