I am stuck in Easterly

Right now I have just reached Easterly village. I have two main problems:
1. I feel that my team is underpowered/I am not sure which classes are best. Right now I have Bartz as a Thief and his secondary ability is Barefist
Lenna is a Knight and has doublehanded so she is my main damage dealer, does a ton of damage in fights
Galuf is a black mage and also was previously a high-leveled monk
Faris is a Blue mage whose secondary ability is white magic. Mainly Faris can cast aqua rake and do a ton of damage but it costs so much mana i kind of have to run back and forth to INNs pretty often to re-up their mana. Because of stuff like this, I feel very weak for traveling around in the ocean because the monsters in the ocean near Easterly and very tough.
2. I only have one sword that Lenna can use, the coral sword. It deals lightning damage and that heals the thunderpits in the ocean and makes it really hard to deal with them.
Basically, what is a good team I should try to go with for this part of the game? I was able to pretty much mess around and do whatever before but now I feel the difficulty of random encounters has really jumped up now that I am at Easterly. Also, where can I go get equipment near here if I were to change classes?
Sorry for the wall of text, thank you very much to any who reply

1) You should consider upgrading your thief to a ninja. Ninjas are incredibly powerful and versatile at this stage of the game if you buy enough scrolls. Berserkers are nice alternatives to Warriors but attack randomly. Also consider multiclassing your blue mage as a summoner, which has higher magic power than both the white mage and the blue mage and adds the powerful summon ability.

2) I assume you’re having trouble with the dragons in the forest near Easterly, and the old man Ramuh there. These are powerful enemies at this point in the game so no worries about struggling with them. It is worth your while if you do fight Ramuh because you get to summon him, but he is a boss-level random encounter.

I made it out of Easterly, and I did switch the thief to a ninja and found him to be much better with 2 daggers. I need to return to Easterly to fight Ramuh, I heard I need silver glasses to beat him easily, I should see where I can get some
