Several of the old "Playstation one" titles, including VII, VIII, IX, and Tactics are available on the Playstation Network store for around $9.99 USD each. I was wondering if anyone had played this version of FFT and would care to comment on it.

Pros/Cons?
Similarities/Differences to the original (or psp version)?

I'm a big fan of the original game (and my ps3 model doesn't have backwards compatibility), so I would like to play it again. (Yes, I still have the disk and a ps2, but it would just be convenient...)

When you go to buy the game, it warns you that it is a port from the original, and may have lost functionality, but my main concerns are:

Does it still have wacky translation errors like the original did?

and,

Do all the glitches (JP scroll/Item duplication/Water-multi-poaching/Lvl up-Lvl down, etc.) still work?

If anyone has played this version and cares to comment, I would appreciate it greatly ^^

Thanks.

Yes and yes. It is exactly the same as the PS1 version in EVERY way.

Which makes me sad, I'd much have preferred the PSP version, since it's...you know...translated properly.

And I was beginning to think I was the only one!

But yeah, all the PSN games are exact ports, no modifications or additions or anything. That guy are still sick in FFVII, and you can still summon Rich in FFT.

The ONLY reason I dislike WotL is the Lagging animations: These never should never have happened on an advance system.

From what I understand and concur with the other posters is that it's the original PS1 Title on PSN.

The game is exactly the same, but i would suggest watching on a smaller screen as it is really pixelated on my 46" HDTV. I had an issue reading the opening story due to this (before the church battle)

If you poach a monster in depth 2 water, the body doesn't disappear, so you can revive it and poach again and again. Sounds useful until you realise that the only monsters who can enter water don't give you anything worthwhile when poached.
