I know, I'm terrible at thinking up new names, but it's all i have.

It is for school, so I had to explain a lot things. I also made this with a ffvi map next to me, so you might need to check it once or twice, for certain parts.
here it is:

It was another average boring day here in Thamasa, the town of the magi. I was bored out of my mind as I had already mastered all the spells in my grades’ and the next three grades’ spellbooks, and all the other subjects were boring, dull, and futureless, in my opinion. I had no competition to spur me on to try harder as the only person even remotely close my magic abilities was my cousin, Relm Arrowny, and she is only four years old, and it isn’t fun at all to compete with four year olds. I was a natural, a prodigy, my teachers said; at least after I proved I was more magically potent than they. I myself am 16 years old, and all of my friends are about that age. We hang around, but right now, half of them were on vacation in Narshe, the land of snow, where I hear the ski slopes are fun, and varying. The other half were with their parents, who consequentially work for the same company, on a business trip/vacation in Jidoor, the rich city, or the Opera House nearby. I am an only child, and my parents are never home, so I usually spend my day breezing through school, or just hanging out with my friends. When I heard that we had a visitor here in the town of Thamasa, I was surprised. I decided to go pay a visit to this visitor, and see what he was doing and where he was going. When I got to the inn, I saw him there, eating food. He was dressed in all black, with a pair of black pants, a black jacket, a black facemask, and a black belt. He had a huge dog at his side, which I thought for a moment was a monster, a Doberman of unusual size. I asked a few people I knew if they knew who it was, but none of them knew or refused to tell me. I then went to ask Strago Magus, my neighbor who knows everyone.
He said furiously, “Oh, I know him all too well. The name he goes by now is Shadow. He is an assassin for hire, and he charges considerably high prices, but he is the best. He is probably on his way to Vector, to help with the takeover of Tzen. Then Maranda is probably next. He prefers throwing shuriken and ninja scrolls to actual sword-to-sword combat, but he isn’t too bad at that either. He has no morals, mercy, compassion, or feelings, either.”
“So he’s the model of the perfect assassin, and soldier…” I stated.
“Yes, he is, that I’ll give him.” Strago said, “Oh, and also, I don’t know if telling you this is a good idea, but you should know about your uncle. His real name is Clyde Arrowny, and he is Relm’s father. He was part of the great train robber duo of the century, the Shadow Bandits. His partner was named Baram, and when they robbed a Doman train of one million gil, Baram was killed in the escape attempt. Shadow then came here, met Relm’s mother, and got married. As you know, Relm’s mother died during childbirth, and when that happened, Shadow couldn’t take it and left to become a roaming assassin for hire, a mercenary if you will. I then adopted Relm as my granddaughter, as you well know.”
All of this left me dumbfounded, unable to process this new and terrible info, for an instant, and then I instantly regained my cool. I thanked Strago for the info, and left his house. I decided to approach Clyde, no, Shadow, and confront him on why he left in the first place and why he came back. I also decided to let Relm live in peace, better to find out from her father than from her cousin.
I came into the inn, and approached Shadow. I said, “You are the one known as Shadow?”
“What’s it to you?”
“Nice to see you too, Uncle Clyde.”
“I have no siblings that survived past the age of thirteen, and I don’t go by Clyde anymore. I am Shadow. Don’t call me Clyde.”
“You forgot your wife’s sister, Lena. Care to visit her? Or how about talking to your daughter, Relm? Or how about paying a visit to your neighbor, and one-time friend, Strago, who adopted Relm?”
“I have nothing to say to them, or to you. Leave, or get to the point.’
“Very well. Vector has hired you, has it not?”
“It has.”
“Then I wish to accompany you, and help you do your job. I am a master mage, and I would like to learn the way of the ninja. And what better way to learn than to accompany your uncle and have him teach you, right?”
“What if you should die, what then? That would devastate your family. However, if you don’t care about dying, than go ahead and join me; a mage is always useful.”
“You’ll teach me to be a ninja, and with a combination of ninja skills, as well as magic, I could very well easily kill anything that came at me.”
“Very well. Run along and tell your family that your dear Uncle Clyde is taking you on as an apprentice. I can tell that you have no future here. By the way, what is your name?”
“I already left a note, and brought everything that I need for the trip. I can leave now. My name is Kefka Palazzo, Uncle Shadow.”
“I leave at dawn, Kefka. Be there. Just call me Shadow.”
At that I left, and immediately went to the weapon and armor shop, and bought about as many Shuriken, Fuma Shuriken, Pinwheels, Flame Scrolls, Water Scrolls, Bolt Scrolls, Shadow Scrolls, and Invisible Scrolls as I could carry, and packed them into my backpack. Then I went home and cast a timed spell, which would administer a small electrical shock into my body and hour and a half before the sun came up. I then went too sleep. When I woke up, I waited for my parents, and told them about what had happened, when they come home an hour before dawn.
Mom said, “Kefka, we need to tell you something. We’re actually the leaders of a group called the Returners, which is an organization of spies, assassins, mercenaries, and thieves. There are members in every single city in the small world. Our operation bases are located here, Jidoor, Zozo, South Figaro, and Narshe. The southern continent is in a civil war, with Vector’s Empire likely to win. We have almost half our men in the southern continent. Sadly, we need to have that many, as terrorists are killing random people in all of the four countries, and we lose on average three men a week. We need you to go to Vector, assassinate the Emperor, and make our inside man, Gesthal, replace him. This is an important task, which is why we hired Shadow. I hate him, but he is useful. I had guessed that you would find him and travel with him, which is why we instructed him to let you go, but not to speak of us. Don’t be too reckless. Try to get yourself into a position of court power, and right when the emperor needs you most, kill him. Be careful, Kefka. I hope to see you again someday in the future. Fare you well. Godspeed.”
This had confirmed my suspicion about my parents, and I bid my parents farewell, as the conversation took a while, and I was anxious to meet up with Shadow. I went to the inn, and caught Shadow as he was leaving. Without another word, we left Thamasa and departed on our journey southward.
I causally asked, “So, uh, how did you get here? Thamasa is an island. Did you take one of Jidoor’s yachts?”
Then we passed the corner of the gulf, Shadow mentioned for us to turn northward, and said, “No, I rented a boat from Mobliz. I also have some other clients to escort, so I left them in Mobliz with Destroyer, Interceptor’s twin. They should be safe.”
We then approached the northwestern tip of Thamasa, and I saw Shadow’s boat moored to a tree. However I saw a bunch of bats eating the rope. Giant bats. Before I could move, I saw a the blur that was Shadow’s arm move and throw 4 shuriken at once, with perfect accuracy. All four bats dropped dead on the spot. Shadow explained, “All wild animals have mutated in the past few months somehow, and have become monsters, and should be killed on sight. I noticed you brought along some ninja stars and ninja scrolls, so I’m guessing that you want me to teach you, right? Well, I’ll teach you the basics of how to throw scrolls and stars, but that’s about it. For shuriken you have to flick your wrist at the height of it’s movement, and let them fly. For scrolls, it is the exact same thing; only you hold on to one end of the scroll, and let the scroll unwind, thus letting the spell to be cast. I doubt you’ll need scrolls, because you are such a talented mage, am I correct?”
I replied, “Yes, but I still would like to learn how to throw ninja shuriken, just in case my magic fails, and I am alone.”
“Very well. I’ll also teach you how to high jump.”

That's as far as I got...
More updates before/on Jan 10.
