Well, you're right, you got a couple ad views off of me but what you said was accurate. smile.gif

It does very little to address exactly why one would have any real desire to deal with doing that, but do it you did! Honestly, I never considered that the game's setup would allow for something like this, but kudos to you or whoever put two and two together on it. I never would have thought of manipulating the game's ruleset that way on my own.

Not bad, I would have went with a chemist set up for Gaffy though (Note: I am commenting at the halfway point of the video, as I allow it to load on my archaic computer) if only to keep his attack power depressed, that would also have given him an unlimited pool of potions to heal himself and allow more chances given any random Delita interference.

It's only a shame you can really only do something like this at such high levels. One could do the de-level trick to bring levels back down in order to get some of the games challenge back, but at that point you have such over powered gear that the challenge is minimal anyway.

Still not a bad manipulation of vanilla tactics. Maybe not my cup of tea, but a fun little way to exploit the system. Could be useful in War of The Lions for multiplayer maybe, if that is even still possible given the changes made to that port.

This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Enjoy.

If you're willing to spend the time to level yourself that high, you can exploit the same AI for the THROW mechanic without having to control the annoying variables (other Guest AIs, the whole Protect Ophelia thing) that made you have to do that over several times.

Araguay Woods (if you approach from Dorter) spawns ninjas, so once you get that high in level you can just bring a party with Catch equipped (and some way of inflicting Don't Move reliably, and STEAL in case the ninja have equipment that makes them immune to Don't Move). You'll probably have to reset a few times to get the ninja battle, and probably have to do the battle several times (unless you take your strategy of using Level Blast), but each battle will but much easier to manage, I promise you.

With the Ninja fight in Araguay, the female ninja will be 10 levels higher than the highest leveled unit in your formation. Makes it simple to have the thrower be at a specific level. Excalibur is a level 96 throw though there are other rare weapons at 95 that will be of interest to a collector. Masamune is only thrown at lv 95 and having extras are nice for the Samurai ability. The rare Sasuke Knife is also exclusive to this particular level if missed at Nelveska. As an added perk, the female ninja also starts with job level 7 in Ninja giving the best possible chance of knowing the desired Throw skill.

It is the rare battle so it's only available in Chapter 4 and will take a higher than usual number of resets to spawn. Ninjas at the high levels needed will always have Thief Hats so having a way to break or steal them matters. Killing off the others and trapping the Ninja in a corner with pertrified allies is a more permanent solution to repeatedly inflicting Don't Move but also takes more effort to set up and the Ninja won't always cooperate with your wishes.
