Hwen I was playing Chrono Trigger when I defeated Lavos
Possible spoilers: highlight to view (At the End of the Game) (1999) I had to go inside him (Chrono is revived) when I got inside him I had to keep going I got Into a fight (My party was Chrono, Frog, Ayla) with a boss He used 2 attacks and I didn't get any chances on attacking him and then Killed my party. Then I saw what was a ending or something which Possible spoilers: highlight to view showed a scene with a dirrector and a couple of men in a control room a few minutes later the Ending Finishing. And then It showed a picttue of the Earth saying "BUt the Future would not change." does anyone know What I did wrong, my characters are at Level 50. If anyone can help I would really appreciate it, thanks! |

That's perfectly normal.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view It's showing what happens because you weren't able to save 1999. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? Yeah, just in case it wasn't clear, losing the battle was what you did wrong. Losing that particular battle gives you that "ending". (It's not counted as one in the PSX ending list, though.)

There's 10 total endings anyway besides that. Just so you don't find anything else odd if you happen to get a different ending.

Twelve, in fact (the comment in that one ending that indicates ten is wrong, and removed from the PSX version), and there are two variations of at least two of those.

Taking on Lavos at level 50? Not for greenhorns, man. I would suggest a MINIMUM of 70 for your first shot. THe optimal LAT (lavos assault team) consists of: Chrono, Ayla, Marle.
Chrono uses Confuse, every turn. Ayla pounds the crap outta everything with Triplekick. Marle Hastes/Heals everyone, reviving too. DO NOT ATTACK WITH MARLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. -------------------- Uwao. aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! Let's travel together! |

70?! I think that's a wee bit too high... I did just fine at level 45 on my first shot using Chrono, Magus and Marle.

I agree 40-50 is the highest I ever was and I found Lavos to be pretty easy.

Quote (WGG) THe optimal LAT (lavos assault team) consists of: Chrono, Ayla, Marle. Not necessarily. It's mostly personal preference; I tended to prefer using Lucca, Marle, and Magus personally, for DarkEternal. -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... I loved to use Crono, Frog, and Marle. Crono and Frog attacking (X-strike works just as great there as it did in the beginning of the game) with Marle healing with the occasional duel attack with Crono or Frog.

Lavos should be cake with Crono, Frog, and Ayla at level 50. That's the same team I normally use and the level I'm usually around when fighting it.
I just have Crono cast Luminaire, Frog do Leap Slash, and Ayla do Triple Kick. Then Possible spoilers: highlight to view , I do mainly the same thing, but have Crono/Ayla perform Falcon Hit as well. Full Tonics/Mid Ethers/Elixirs do all the healing. on Lavos' second/final form inside the shell -------------------- Words of Wisdom: If something can go wrong, it will. I ALWAYS overlevel on my first try, just to be safe. In Phantasy Star 4, I took on one of the earliest bosses (the one who hurt Alys) at level 40..
And I suppose that it is a matter of preference. I just always liked that assault squad, since it combines magic and attack well. -------------------- Uwao. aooh! I'm Gau! I'm your friend! Let's travel together! |

This has gone way offtopic, and the question was answered anyway.
