So who's in your party? I'm a big fan of the ultra-offensive Crono-Ayla-Robo team, but I also like using Crono-Ayla-Marle and feel that Crono-Lucca-Frog is really underrated. Magus and Frog are probably the two characters I use the least.
(Sorry, I saw that one topic in this forum and was afraid that it was feeling lonely). -------------------- |

I agree with your first team. That's the one I prefer most, also. It lacks from solid offensive magic options, but Crono can handle that usually. Ayla is good for charming, as always, and Robo is my main attacker.
By end game, my Robo was hitting for more damage normally than a crit from Crono's Rainbow Sword. Ayla was healing Robo every turn so he had his 999 health to maximize the Crisis Arm (the final 9 digit is most important). I remember dealing 6200 damage with his Uzzi Punch against Lavos, and he was taking action twice per action of everybody else due to Haste Helm. Nova Robe protected against status ailments, so he couldn't be effectively disabled. It was truly unfair. He was dealing like 1900 per normal hit, and double that with a crit. While Crono was gone, I did really like having Frog on my team. A powered Masamune + Hero Medal is really formidable, but it just could not compare to the damage potential of Robo, Alya, OR Crono. He would be my substitute if I took one of them out, though. -------------------- Is PJ |

My three favorite characters tend to be my active party: Lucca, Frog, and Magus.

Frog, Robo and Magus is my favourite party. I never leave out Robo or Frog (my favourite characters).. Sometimes I use Ayla instead of Magus. Sometimes.
I try to use Marle and Crono as little as possible, as I don't like either of them. |

I usually have Crono, Magus and Marle as my party, though I often switch Marle for Ayla in case I need to be dealing a little more damage. When Crono is out of commission, I usually replace him with Robo.
I like have balance in a party and this combo has gotten me through some tough scrapes with relative ease. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

Crono, Frog and Lucca.
They get a decent triple tech rather early on although Lucca's speed annoys me. |

Exactly the same as BanjoTheClown for me. Pairing up Frog and Crono for X-Strike is a lot of fun - even after the 100th time. Ayla replaced Robo after she joins the team and became my main damage factory.

For a LONG time, I went with Chrono, Lucca, Frog- It's a solid combo, with Chrono's good solo techs, and Frogsquash and or Flare as solos/duals for Frog and Lucca.
Eventually, I discovered an even more killer party in Frog, Chrono, Magus. I can kill Lavos in his final form in about 4 minutes at level 50 or so. Confusion with Chrono, Frog uses Frog Squash, so I just keep his HP low, and Magus spams Dark Eternal. -------------------- If you've been mod-o-fied, It's an illusion, and you're in-between. This is the format I went with, even though I always was a little disappointed at the lack of triple tech for the team. Before I got Magus though, I would generally stick with a party of Chrono, Frog, Robo setup, which also worked well -------------------- "We're not tools of the government or anyone else. Yeah, definitely a hooge fan of the whole Crono, Frog and Ayla team. I do so enjoy a good Falcon Hit. Also, I was totally man-crushing on my Crono from my latest run-thru. His speed was maxed out, and then haste-helmed him so he was retardo-fast and wicked powerful with the Rainbow Sword, rockin' baddies like nobody's business.
Marle was always favoured over Lucca early on, because at it was said earlier, her speed sucked hardcore. Always frustrating. Frog and Robo are both equally wicked, but I just like Frog's classic charm. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! I'm so glad I got around to playing CT last summer
My favorite party would have to be Magus, Crono and Robo Robo has some good healing ability and some crazy power. Magus has powerful spells that come in handy pretty much all the time. Crono is... well, there's no choice there. But he's the hero! And he's got some dece sword moves too. -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! I have two favorite parties. First off is Crono, Robo, and Ayla - Twister is a great Triple Tech, and the three together make up a ridiculously powerful physical trio. Rocket Roll or Shock are good in a pinch, and Falcon Hit is awesome in a lot of situations. Beast Toss is also a ridiculously strong move when it's available.
I also love Lucca, Magus, and Robo, for Omega Flare alone. Give that team the necessary MP-reducing accessories and they just explode through the Black Omen and other late dungeons. Insane power and a really cool tech to watch. -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? I usually fall back on the Crono/Ayla/Frog party, mostly because they're my favorite three allies and the latter two get a decent healing tech together. Not really that big on Lucca or Robo.

Don't really have a permanent team, but I'll usually use Crono, Marle, and Lucca. Marle, and Lucca would use Antipode, while Crono picks off any survivors. (Not a decent strategy in retrospect...)
Or, I'll just use Crono, Ayla, and Frog. With Ayla dealing pure damage, Frog'll heal when necessary, and Crono balancing magic, and physical attacks. -------------------- "...But we will succeed. We pride ourselves in making the impossible possible." |

Hello, congratulations on finishing the Chrono Trigger subpage, i've been using it quite a bit ..
When playing through the game recently, i figured there is really no need to opt for the most effective team, since anything can work really. Hence, i prefer using Magus, Frog and Chrono (i'm a sucker for spiky-hair and antagonists turning good. Frogs dialogue is great!). Occasionaly i'll throw in Ayla there, when i need Charm. -------------------- All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Broccoli to die. |

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site - just stumbled on it as I was cruising the web looking for a trip down memory lane.
Chrono Trigger is one of my fav's from the SNES. I still have my cartridge and occasionally play it! My favorite team was always Chrono + Frog + Magnus. Though I also liked using everyone else. CT was great in that every character felt useful and I rotated my characters frequently. |

This may sound strange but kind of like everybody in CT and usually takes turns with... everybody.. It's annoying and confusing and it usually takes a long time to level everybody up but just can't leave nobody behind because just like all of the characters so much.. When played the game 2 years ago had a team of Ayla - Chrono- Frog But then started to feel guilty about Robo and feel sorry for what he's been through and started to notice how really cool Luca was and see that Magus was more than just the cold-hearted ex-bad guy and kind of related to Marle and her issues with her Father.. So yeah...It's a busy squad... -------------------- Currently playing Chrono Trigger !! Currently looking forward to Don't Know. |

I almost always use Crono and Marle, while the final slot rotates between Magus, Frog, and Ayla.

My final party is usually Marle Crono and Frog.
However, I like a handful of teams, though pretty much none of them include Lucca or Magus. >.> -------------------- ..DDR..Maine.. ..Hikaroo-chan no Deviantart.. <Tiddles> And I love how people suggest "Why not call it my great name?????" when their name is clearly the worst thing ever. <Tiddles> "How about ; Mozilla Xplorer & Mozilla Xpress." <Tiddles> How about you die in a fire? |

I just got the DS version and played it for a solid week going through all of the new dungeons and this time around I used the party of Crono, Marle, and Frog and almost never strayed from it. Marle and Frog might sound a little redundant but the double cure double tech is the perfect tool for boss battles, saved my butt many a time. The only drawback to that setup is that you have no fire magic but I managed to get by all the same. When crono went out I replaced him with ayla but quickly switched back afterwards.
