I played this game a long time ago when i was younger and i just picked it back up. Did anyone feel like the pace of battle is really slow? I don't remember the game feeling so sluggish...

I just finally got my hands on a copy of it...its kinda slow. I just hate how you cant do dispatch missions on your own like you can on TA2.

That's why I dislike this game. Booooring. Even with a turbo feature (I own a legitimate copy as well, mind you) with an emulator it is boring. It's like a slug on speed: faster, but still slow as hell.

When you say it's running slow, are you referring to the Playstation version, or the PSP version?

Ah, so the comment is about the pacing of the game, then, as opposed to the slowdowns experienced when playing it on the PSP.

While I find battles can be slow, it's usually not a problem for me. I find the game's pacing to be just to my liking, personally.

It may be that I prefer a slower pace than most, but I've never had an issue with the pace in FFT. I find the tension coming from the more deadly tactics used is more than enough to overcome any perceived "sluggishness."

I like taking my sweet time in life, so the pacing doesn't really bother me. I've always been a methodical RPG gamer.

I think there are some circumstances which give the air of slowness -- lots of menus, can't run from battles, charging battle actions, large maps, etc. -- but the when everyone gets up close, it doesn't take too long at all. As mentioned, the PSP version will definitely seem laggier than its PSX counterpart so I guess it's in the eye of the SRPG beholder.

I've commented elsewhere that while the game didn't feel slow at all the first time I played it, I ruined myself by playing it faster later. It's difficult for me to play the iOS version now, with no possible avenues to make it quicker - even now that WotL has no issues with in-battle framerate drops.

It depends on your skill and tolerance as a gamer. A game like this isn't for a complete idiot for the same reason a genius might find it boring.

I've come across topics before about people's ideal games. You don't need to guess there's no perfect solution to this except for maybe one. My flawless game. Unless you like them quickly done.
