I really lucked out this year!

First, my mom bought me a Nintendo 3DS! She never spends that much on one person. She said it was payment for helping her out so much with technology. We got a bundle that came with Super Smash Bros and The Legend of Zelda:Ocarina of Time. I've never played Zelda so I'm delighted to finally have the chance to do so.

Then, my older sister and her husband gave me a PlayStation 4 Pro and Final Fantasy XV! I was completely shocked by this. The PS4 came with Destiny 2, as well.

I used some money I got for watching my sister's dogs to buy games for my new consoles: Theatrhythymn Curtain Call for the 3DS (which I really, really wanted) and Destiny 1, Final Fantasy Type-0, Star Wars: Battlefront and World of Final Fantasy. I also bought FFXV:Kingsglaive.

Other gifts I got: a crochet calendar, some teeny needles for knitting socks, candy, some toiletries, and instant lottery tickets which won me $22.

Anyone get anything good this holiday season?

I don't usually get many gifts other than from my wife, and she mainly selects things from my Amazon wish list. smile.gif That said, I got some pretty good stuff since I picked it out - the last Futurama set I didn't already have on disc, a Qi-charging pad for my new phone, the Indiana Jones collection on Blu-ray to upgrade my DVD set, and a bluetooth gamepad. I still get cash from my parents and aunts and uncles, as they don't like to load us down with gifts that we then have to pack for travel. So I use most of that money to cover the travel costs, but I also just ordered myself a Raspberry Pi 3b just to play with. Just one video game for me this year, FIFA 18 from one of my brothers-in-law, and a really nice new set of Nike Free running shoes from the other BIL.

My daughter, though, got a 2DS from the same BIL who got me FIFA, so I'll definitely use that from time to time. And Santa, among many other things, brought her Lulu's moogle doll, which she adores.

We had a pretty rough holiday. My mom had to give emergency surgery Christmas Eve to repair a hernia, and so we held off gift-giving until she recovered. So the best present is having her recovering nicely. In terms of presents, we opened them yesterday. I got a few cool books about mythology and fairy tales. They also bought me some shirts that haven't arrived yet. And they got me a drone, but they want to replace it so I haven't tried it yet. So, another theme for my holiday is besides gratefulness for my mom's health is patience.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for your Mother!

I really only get presents from the wife also - some clothes and what not but a steam gift card as well!

used that to pick up FF3, FF4, FF5 and FF8 to help round out my collection on Steam winter sale. Now I only need to purchase 1 & 2 and 15 when it gets a PC release to own all of the numbered series.. playing them all is a different story however.. but will get around to it!

I'm sorry to hear about the rough times, Blitz and NP. I hope things start/continue looking up soon for you guys.

I also, like a terrible parent, forgot to mention what my daughter got me - this was the first year at her new school where they have one of those kids' holiday stores where kids can bring in a few bucks and buy trinkets for their families. I got a little rubber keychain in the shape of a hammer that says "DAD." smile.gif

Thank you, Shane and Ranger. She is recovering well.

An update came this morning. Two of my presents got here today. They're two t-shirts from Redbubble.com (a site I definitely recommend). Here are the shirts:

here,

and here.

They are the best form of present: nerdy and comfortable!

The only gaming-related item I got was Breath of the Wild. I also got a new fleece, a nice sweatshirt, some jeans, a blu-ray of Le Samourai, a mystery novel (from my aunt who loves mystery novels even more than I do), my parents telling me that they'll help me buy some new furniture in January / February.

I hope everyone had a nice holiday!

Thank you. And yes, you should check out that site. They have a lot of designs that you couldn't get from an official place, and they are customizable. I already have two FFVI shirts from there that I love, and I want to get more...

Now I sound like a bot promoting Redbubble... shifty.gif

I was well taken care of by my partner and her little one, as well as from some friends. My fave item was my Mega Man onesie; cozy as heck.
Aside from that, odds and ends, cash and goodies. Oh, and a sweet straw that filters water for survival situations. Really digging that.
AltheaValara and R51, you got spoiled, friends! Enjoy it!
Glad to here your mother is mending well, Blitz! They got you some choice shirts, for sure!
What's your new ride, Narratorway?
What sorta' furniture are you eyeing, laszlow?
