As you know you respond and post things across the internet. At forums like these and others about other subjects.
What is your intent when you post? At what point do you see things eye to eye with someone else? What is there to be gained by responding differently? What is the punishment/reward for someone other than yourself not going along with it? Essentially - is it really a big deal? The classic example two people with one liking FFVI and the other liking FFVII. Is futile to get them to agree on one since they might have played both games? There are other examples you can share. I thought people just post to express themselves, or to reply to others in conversation.

Not really sure what you're driving at here. Most come to forums such as these to make friendly conversation with people who share similar interests I would think. Whether people agree or disagree with ideas or opinions given doesn't matter all that much as long as things remain friendly and fun, and there being a sense of community is always an added bonus. Getting upset that someone has a different opinion is a path best avoided.

Quote (Eagle Caller) At what point do you see things eye to eye with someone else? What is there to be gained by responding differently? What is the punishment/reward for someone other than yourself not going along with it? First question: when you share the same opinion, I guess? Second question: so I don't respond by copy/pasting Glenn Magus Harvey's posts, because we're different people, that have different opinions, styles, etc. We gain by learning what each other's opinions are. Third question: There's no punishment. Quote (Eagle Caller) The classic example two people with one liking FFVI and the other liking FFVII. Is futile to get them to agree on one since they might have played both games? The point is not to force an agreement. Our goal is clarification, why do you believe what you do? -------------------- |

I think that clears things up. The reason why we need to discuss stuff is because no matter how perfect we think it is we'll find away to discredit it.
I'm sure there's many things out there that can stand on their own but people will criticize it and/or hate simply to do it without a valid reason. I show I'm vigilant with what I do. A quality that some people lack because they are unable to learn and/or have other desires. Things have worked out up until this point. I hope it all continues to work even when I'm no longer around to evaluate it anymore.
