Okers, thanks to Sabin for getting me in the mood for it, I've been playing FFIV on the PSX (Chonicles) for the last week and a half and I've noticed something interesting:
I'm in the Lunar Core, and I always fight with Cecil alone to build up his level to 99 (Best bet is to fight 3 Red Dragons, with the Dragon Shield equipped, all physical damage is 1, or a low number). Anyway, I was at Level 72, and for the heck of it, once I got the level up, I checked out what Cecil's stats did...they went DOWN by 1 in a few spots! I was like WHOA! Anyway, once I got the next level up, Cecil's strength went up by 3, and nothing else moved! Anywho, after some trial and error, I found out (So it seems) that after a certain level, your stats either can go up or down by certain amounts, and it changes from time to time! I saved with only 2000 EXP til a level up, fought outside the savepoint, got the level, looked at the stats, reset, etc. So what I did was get picky and begin to get the stats I wanted...Cecil at level 93 has some VERY high stats (Except Wisdom). So I was wondering: Can anyone else verify this, or am I just insane? |

Am I confused, or did you mean to say you fought with Cecil alone in the Lunar Core? How is that possible?

I think he let the other members die, or should I say, SWOON! I've never noticed that. It's weird, because I don't think it happens in any other FF games. Then again, FF4's stat system was much differen (and pretty confusing). -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. I regret leveling up too much in that game. My first time throught I fought until I got Meteo with Rydia, and even though that was disappointing, the fight with Zeromus was way too easy.

Heehee, yeah. I always kill off everyone else to fight with Cecil ALONE to build up to 99. Equipment:
RHand-Ragnarok (Crystal) Sword LHand-Dragon Shield Head-Ribbon Body-Crystal Armor Arms-Protect Ring I found out that with ONLY -1- piece of the Dragon (Dragoon) equip on Cecil, damage from ALL dragons (Physical) is 1. So going to the 3rd floor of the Lunar Core and fighting the 3 Red Dragons nets you like 150,000 EXP per fight! No prob! Only thing to run from is the EvilMasks...badddd! Anywho, thanks for the link! Next I'll get Kain to 99 with max stats. |

I found Evil Masks to be quite easy. They really don't do anything too bad.
The Dragons are another story. Their elemental attacks are WICKED. The "Mind" enemies also had lots of HP and annoying attacks. |

Breaths, of course, are another story. They don't attack, only report your statistics to Zemus, or so they say.

What different does that make for Rydia? My Rydia did have Meteo, but I never used it because Bahamut took less MP and nearly 9999 damage anyway. -------------------- I will be there... |

Ech, Meteo takes too long to cast. Anyone ever notice how strong spells like Bahamut and Meteo take longer to cast than say, Fire 3 or Virus?
I once waited like 30 seconds and had Cecil attack three times while waiting for Rydia (who has a great set of pixels, btw) to cast Meteo. |

Tellah's stats actually go down with every level he gains, but his MP never changes and his HP continues to go up. You wouldn't notice this unless you actually checked it out on the menu before and after each level.

Haha, Tellah's getting too old! That's a little odd, though... -------------------- Lou: There's a couple of guys fighting down at the aquarium, Chief. Wiggum: Do they still sell those frozen bananas? Lou: I think so. Wiggum: Let's roll. |

yeah i tried it out and you are definitely right, sometimes stats go down, but usually when they DO go up, they go up more than they went down, so its like two steps forward and one step back. kinda stupid of you ask me. and i always noticed tellahs stats go down, thats pretty retarded as well.... senility, man.

Yea I think all the FF's do that, I think they just hate the fact that at the end of the game you can train all day then go fight the last boss and defeat him no problem.
