No surprise to see One-Winged Angel move on, as it's clearly one of the better-known tracks in Final Fantasy. Seeing the FF10 Ending Theme is a bit more surprising, as it narrowly beat out a semifinalist from 2010, At Zanarkand.

One-Winged Angel is one of those themes that you can use to help determine where a player first started getting into Final Fantasy. It laid the groundwork for many big battle themes after it, with an intro evoking a horror soundtrack followed by big drums and chanting in a foreign language. And the whole time you hear it, you're fighting a bizarre boss in some sort of otherworldly portal. What's not to like? OWA won a couple rounds in 2010 before narrowly losing out to the Aria.

The Ending Theme for Final Fantasy X incorporates previous themes with its own melodies, a pattern familiar to players of prior games in the series. At Zanarkand, of course, is part of that overture, meaning that its spirit lives on here... or something.

Another match between two strong tracks!

OWA is famous and high-impact, but when forced to choose, I'd choose the more richly tuneful FFX ending theme, which incidentally also flows from mood to mood really well, more smoothly than OWA (which occasionally seems to stagnate a bit).

Pretty much that. The Ending Theme just sweeps along so nicely!
