It's been a really long time since I've seen anyone play FFIIus, but I always remembered Kain having dark blue/purplish armor, but in every version I've seen since then he's in light green armor. Was I just trippin all those years or were there multiple versions of Kain?

You were probably influenced by his map sprite, which is a dark color.

That might be it, thanks. And no, I haven't played it on any emulators.

At least they're going with the darker color scheme in the new DS remake, like it should be lol

Yeah, i have no idea where you get the green from, because i've always seen the dark blue or purple armor.

I can see where you might be confused. In official art, the logo art, and on the world map he's purplish-blue, while in battle he's more of a blue-green. Amano's official art pretty much never looks like the in-game stuff for FF I - VI.

Also true but everything was had to be put to rest due to the lancer job in FFV that's just blue to the core.

To me, his armor has always been blue.

That's because in the GBA version the color palettes were changed into brighter colors. Also, in the DS version I always confused Cecil with Kain when he was still a D.K., I dunno why but maybe it's because of the armor change but, isn't Kain's armor STILL blue? Oh and, why weep about a silly color change?

Sorry, but that opinion really doesn't make very much sense. They couldn't remember what they used? I would have a hard time taking that seriously in a fan game, let alone a major project from a major jRPG producer.

For what it's worth, I just screencapped the sprites for all of the 2D releases of the game:

GBA

Looks as if the color's always been different between battles and world map, and GBA certainly has been lightened a bit, as most GBA ports have, but it's still blue everywhere but battle in all versions.
