Hey this topic is for the remaking of Final Fantasy IV.
As everyone should know, final fantasy IV has the best and I mean the best story ever in Final Fantasy history. However I think I can improve it, alot. However I am making the game not to please myself, but to truly bring out the potential that FF4 could have had. So instead I will improve the game, I already have some ideas in mind, but I want to know what everyone else has aswell. One of my ideas is to change the battling system to make it like Seiken Denetsu or Chrono Trigger. Then I will put in my AP and MXP systems. Ability points for abilities and attacks. And my MXP system in creating more powerful spells which is similar to what you see in Secret of Mana. However learning the spells requires buying spell books or going to oracles/shrines such as MT.Ordeals shrine for the Legend Sword. I think there should be a class change for other characters. And some part in the story where Cecil learns how to switch between classes either in or out of battle. More abilities for both Paladin and Dark Knight Cecil, Kain, Yang, and Edge. The story continues after Cecil and co. vanquish Zeromus as Golblez trains to become a Lunarian Mage. This post has been edited by Cecil is Locke on 30th January 2004 18:28 |

What would really be the point of carrying the story on? Evil is vanquished and Golbez is "lost in space."
After Cecil and his crew beat the embodiment of hatred, don't you think any other enemy that rises up against the legendary five would stand a chance? Plus, your post has one big oxymoron... Improve on the "best" storyline (and i mean best) ever? That would show that theres some flaw that you'd like to correct. Personally, I wouldn't waste my time if I were you, it could be spent doing so many other things, like breaking down why ff8 sucked mathematically. Gabe your reply makes no sense you are to make no more replies in my topic, unless its an idea, besides I'm just using the FFIV as a warm up for my true creation, which is so diverse I haven't got a name for it yet. Epic Quest or Chosen Ones seems likely but not evident so what I need really is to complete this challenge then after that I can see what I need to improve on before I make my masterpiece which well make FF7 AC and FFXII seem like the original Zelda for NES. And if you Gabe decide to make any more direct replies please send to my via de PM or Email, not through my topic, for I will either not see them or not care enough to read them.

Um...wow, Cecil. I'm not usually one to say stuff like this, and I'm not a moderator, but you are WAY out of line.
This is a public forum. Ergo (in theory at least), people can post what they want, where they want, when they want. Gabe disagreed with your idea, so he said so, and he even (gasp!) said why he disagreed. If you don't agree with something, you can feel free to say so as well, but you have NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to forbid someone from posting to "your" topic. You asked for opinions, and Gabe gave his. Now I'm giving mine. If you don't want to hear what somebody thinks, DO NOT ASK. If you can't take criticism, then keep your ideas to yourself, and feel free to live in your own private little bubble for the rest of your life. I'm sure you'd be much happier that way. Now, I'm sorry if I overstepped my boundaries here, but this is exactly the kind of pompous, self-important behavior that I simply cannot tolerate. |

Thank you Syndarr, I appreciate the support.
Cecil, you really do need to learn to take criticism. People don't agree with me in some of my classes, and they argue their point, but i don't stand up, point to the door, and demand they get out of "my" classroom. This is a community. You can expect a lot more from other posters in the future. But personally, I hope never to see a thread made by you again. I'd feel sorry for whoever posts in it. Moderator Edit That last paragraph, regardless of the post below, should not be there. Don't be like that. Syndarr said it best, though the response did overstep the bounds a little. Nobody can be forbidden to post in any public topic on the forums. A little disagreement never hurt anybody. People might disagree in this topic, but I'll bet that people will have other ideas to share. If that's all you're looking for, then disregard the rest of the posts, as you said you will.
Thread continues. Please keep it going on topic. Sorry but I didn't read anything you posted so it was all pointless. I am tired of people abusing my topic for thier little kicks. Anyways, I've decided to retire from making a FFIV remix, since no one cares, so I'll make the game I tried to make in the first place. So this topic has been officially cancelled.
Moderator Edit Fair enough, but please don't assume that you have much control over any topics, even those you make. Only the mods have complete control; anyone is free to post in any topic unless that person is breaking the forum rules. - Elena99 This post has been edited by Elena99 on 6th February 2004 01:16 |

Maybe I should just add this: Cecil is Locke, I would strongly suggest you correct your attitude. I read through your first post and although I enjoy reading about ideas for sequels, I felt that it was written in a pompous, arrogant manner. And your statement to Gabe was quite nasty.
Narratorway, you may recommend GingTHO but I will nevertheless try my luck to see if I can settle this in a civilized manner. If it doesn't work, I will proceed with your recommendation (if the mods don't close the topic). Cecil is Locke, just remember that this is an online forum, meant for the open discussion of ideas, opinions, etc.. (Not to mention that I am pretty darn sure Cecil Harvey wouldn't act the way you did. As for Cecil being similar to Locke, I disagree plotwise, but you could make some case for that--but that's another issue.) I personally think that you've come up with some great ideas, Cecil is Locke, but in my opinion they don't really fit that well in an FFIV sequel, since FFIV often linked personality to character class. (I would like to give Kain some magic, though.) Also, creating a good sequel to FFIV might be hard, since the game does end rather conclusively (like many other RPGs). Instituting a CT-style battle system would be nice, though. Now if you could make such a game, I'd be happy to play it and give you feedback on it. I don't know how to program myself, but I'd be willing to help you on design if you need help. -------------------- current games (2024-02-19): Fairy Fencer F ADF Pokémon Perfect Crystal finished so far this year: Gato Roboto drowning, drowning New Super Mario Bros.
