I must say from Trigger my favorite song is probably 600AD and from Cross I like almost the entire sound track, but Time Scar, and Dream of the Shore Near Another World have to be the absolute best.
I managed to learn how to play them both on piano despite not having any training on one, nor even knowing what notes I'm hitting. I like going to my wife's house on holidays when their whole family is their and randomly start playing those two songs. Everyone just sits down and listens. Oh yeah, people give Chrono Cross so much flak yeah, but the sound track is actually better. And their is still duel techs just like in Trigger, though not near as many. The battle system is better in my opinion, and the element grid, it's alot like Materia from Final Fantasy Vll, only alot more slots and one time per battle use. I loved the game. Chrono Cross OST's amazing, even owns CT's.
I could never name every single song, as I would probably have THE WHOLE OST here. A few for now, Another Arni Village, Home Arni Village, Another Guldove, Home Guldove, Voyage Home World, Voyage Another World, and basically every single sad song. I swear, whole OST's 100% pure gold. And as far as CT goes, OST's all amazing as well. Some would be Wind Scene, To Far Away Times, Guardia Castle, Manoria Cathedral, Chrono Trigger, and WORLD REVOLUTION. |

Please don't make me choose. ;-; Both soundtracks are phenomenal but there are a few that always stood out to me.
Chrono Trigger: Frog's Theme (It's actually my ringtone. >.>) To Faraway Times (Not kidding, processional when I got married. Explaining it to people was hilarious.) Chrono Cross: Termina Time's Scar These games never disappoint on a game play or a musical level. -------------------- |

I really like Frog's theme but I feel it has a special meaning to me, of inspiring confidence, and I like to listen to it only sparingly.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzYIEY-CcM:Amazingly calm song makes me want to relax.I really like the instrument which sounds like something indian.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzYIEY-CcM:Sounds like chrono and team are going to seriously kick some butt. This song was pretty amazing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzYIEY-CcM The piano captures the essence of hopelessness perfectly. It fits the events too well, and is on par with ff6's dark world.Very atmospheric. The sealed gate song actually got to me even with listening to it, ugh.I need happy music now. -------------------- We are stardust. Our bodies are made from the guts of exploding stars. Magus's theme. It starts out quiet, almost inaudible; then suddenly becomes threatening; then triumphant; then climactic. It fits this evil protagonist perfectly.
A close second would be Frog's theme. It is triumphant and knightly, yet also vaguely froggish. If you listen to it slowed down, you can hear that it starts on the correct note, then scoops down and back up; a little different from a usual scoop, but it serves the same purpose actually slightly better. It sort of reminds me of Cyan's theme, even though the chords are not the same at all. The midi sound is very similar, which gives that perfect samarai touch. Frog put into music. I also like Lucca's theme. It is extremely triumphant, and makes you feel as though you too can conquer the world. It matches her outlook really well. I also like how it plays every time you defeat Spekkio. |
