I'm a big fan of the Masamune. Not only is it really strong, but it also gives the wielder first action in battle. Neat!

Killer Bow, very useful during world2.

Dancing dagger, or whatever the name of it was. The one that made character dance if you selected "fight" and do all the badass things the dancer class could do.

Can't decide between Masamune or Chicken Knife. Both are really great weapons.

I think the Twin Lance was pretty cool, because it was pretty powerful the first time you get one, and the whole idea of the weapon hitting twice was cool. |

I have to agree with the Twin Lance. I want one of those to have around the home.
Failing that, the good old Excalibur - I have a thing for knights with swords, especially cliche swords. -------------------- Drink coffee. Eat pocky. Say kupo. The Fuuma/Pinwheel. Expensive, but worth it. Failing that the Dragon/Hiryuu lance - readily available, free, and you get some Elixirs with every purchase. It's the most powerful lance in the game (?). Pair it up with Mix, Red Magic and White Magic, add a Coral Ring and Blizzard Shield and you'll be able to walk all over Shinryuu too. It's also in a very fetching shade of red. Order today.

Blood sword was owning face for quite a while with x4 attack. There was period of facing dragons when I just let the other characters die off, and went at it with Bartz alone.
Stealing 2 double lances from the stones down Val castle helped out a lot aswell with Ninja class. |

I like the Chicken Knife, since it's so ridiculously powerful from me running away all the time.

Yeah twin lance! I single-handedly mastered the ninja class on all my characters at the same time stealing twin lances off of the basement creatures in the castle! 8 twin lances between 4 ninjas = 16 decent powered attacks per round. Paired with haste = pwn! Also, I'm a fan of the Full Moon and similar weapons for their tasty not-typically-back-row-job-in-the-back-row... ness. Back row thieves are fun. I'm not typically a runner, so I would do the shot in the foot and pick brave blade over chicken knife. In my current playthrough, however, I may go with the chx knife for good measure, as I'm doing a run to see if Gogo can be beaten. Can't run from that battle anyway. -------------------- If internal struggles were as enjoyable and glamorous as the self conflicted wars within video game characters, we would all be statues, reveling in perpetual self war. -Me Play me on Rock Band 2, GH-WT, or any other Xbox GH! Although I do enjoy the Twin Lance, as I had plenty after killing about 1600 of those Statues (Rare Steal) under Bal Castle. I would have to say my favorite weapon is the Defender.
It's strong, but not quite top tier like some of the Kuzar Castle weapons, but it still usable. It's non elemental, which is a nice situational advantage over the Excalibur and the Holy Lance. It can be used with Sword Magic, which rules. But it's main thing is that it guards against attacks, not everything or as well as a shield, but then again, usually your most of your guys are gonna duel-wield weapons in the latter portions of the game, and the Defender gives a snazzy increase in survivability with only a tiny drop in offense. Besides, it's still a reoccurring sword in FF, just useful all the time, awesome sometimes. I like the name as well, sounds noble and chivalrous. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. Rune Bell. It improves all elements except water, so it works wonders on my Normal with White/Summon character. Very nice to have as an alternative to Wizard Rod.

The Death Sickle was great, especially in World one, where some grinding is done.
I also really liked the Brave Blade. I never run from a battle, so that weapon is always optimized for me. As for a weapon type, I like swords. I always make sure someone in my party can use one, even if the best one I have isn't exactly the strongest weapon in my arsenal. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

The best way to avoid running away from any battle when you use the Chicken Knife is to have a character with the Thief Lv6 ability !Capture (or !Mug if you're playing the remakes); It ignores the special effects of the Chicken Knife and it's a great advantage because not only do you stay in battle and deal powerful damage, you get to steal something as a bonus. I always have my Thief or Ninja use that combo.. Brave Blade is good, but it's limited to only Knights, Freelancers, or jobs that have the Equip Sword ability on.. So it's better to stick to Chicken Knife.. |

That is quite true. It is pretty much damage x2 with each weapon during 4-8 attacks in a row. The only downpoint to using !Rapid Fire is that it obviously chooses enemies automatically. It's not wise to use it on multiple enemy parties.
