Unlike my half-assed Cid FF7 artwork that I drew with neither full enthusiasm nor a reference point, this was done using both. I am not entirly sure this one's complete though. I definately plan on redoing the shadow.
This is the first of a couple FF6 enemies that I plan on submitting to CON, since the FF6 monsters gallery is very small right now. I'm debating on weather to color these or leave them b&w. I could color some of them and just add another palette swap(I actually like the palette swapping idea) This post has been edited by Frozen_Aura on 11th August 2007 03:31 |

This one is really good, IMO. I do think you should color it, it would add a better feeling to the character, but hey that's just me. Also adding some texture like color would do very nicely too, but it also looks just fine the way it is.
Job well done. -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

Heh. Made me chuckle because I wasn't expecting it. Probably has more detail than your average drawing of a cactuar, since they are so simplistic. Not bad.

Okay, I touched up the Cactrot a little bit and edited the above post so that it now has the new link.
That said, here's another enemy for you... This post has been edited by Frozen_Aura on 11th August 2007 20:18 |

The black shadows underneath them seem out of place to me due to the monsters themselves having very little shading. Perhaps if the shadows were a light gray instead.
Other than that not bad. Let's see something else. -------------------- -- You're Gonna Carry That Weight -- |

Here's number three.
For now, copying and pasting links will suffice. But I have been unsuccessful in placing thumbnail pics in these posts. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Certain file types that won't work as thumbnail images? This one was more of a task because there was so much detail and my reference print-up was blurry, but I still like it. When is the next fanart update? If you have any requests for monster graphics you'd like to see, let me know and I'll try to get one drawn and posted before the next update. Heh, they're all cute enough (your cactrot's certainly appropriate). Personally, I think a bit of simple coloring would go a long way to improve these, too, since, as they are now, they seem a bit, um...empty? At least to me, anyway.

I think improvement could be made in not necessarily coloring, but with more detail. Most of them look like basic outlines (the fourth one is the most detailed). Add some shading and texture. The cactuar needs it most. Cactii aren't as smooth as cucumbers.

These are really good, very detailed. I agree with what everyone else has said, if you put some color on them, they would be even better.

This one was quite detailed and I had to do a bit of substitutions here and there.
I still have not been able to attach images to my posts(certain file types don't work as attachments), so I am still using copied URL links. This post has been edited by Frozen_Aura on 25th August 2007 03:13 |

Quote (Frozen_Aura @ 7th July 2007 22:29) This was a fun one to do... Poor guy...I think he wants some bigger, badder horns, regardless of what they might look like in FF6. These just don't do his behemoth badassiness justice . -------------------- |

I've always loved simplistic drawing styles. These are all great, as far as I'm concerned. Especially nice was the Behemoth, and the Blue Dragon.

Okay, now I've begun adding the edited colored ones. These are the ones that are worthy of going into the fanart section.

Simple and cartoony, but very nice art. Good work, Frozen_Aura!
