During the climb up Mt. Ordeals, and the trip back to Baron... Did anybody get mad at Tellah defiant inability to cast Meteo? I mean.... it just sits there, at 99 MP, taunting you, taunting Tellah, taunting his measly 90 max-MP cap.
So did anyone do what I did, and level up Palom high enough to cast it on his own? So that Palom could show Tellah how its done? It also made the fight with Cainazzo pretty easy, I must say... |

It was kinda part of the story...
Tellah would be able to caste Meteo only by sacrificing his own life-force. And, no, you're the crazier of us two. Dunno 'bout the others. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. First couple times through the game, yes I was mad at the inability of getting Tellah to use Meteo. I tried leveling him up to get over the hump over 99 MP to cast it, but I don't think he budged from 90. But I wasn't fanatical enough to spend that much time leveling up Palom so he had it. And if you look at it through a reality perspective, it'd be really sad to see a 5 year old casting the ultimate black magic spell, but a 70-something sage can't.
And Cagnaizzo is equally as easy with just a blast or two from Lit-3 -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

leveling paom up that much is insane, if not immposible. the mosnters in that area are so weak that after lv 25 or so it would be like one level every 4 hours. Sounds like a waste of valuble gaming time to me.

Well, its a smart idea... you'll cruise the rest of the game in theory, and wont new characters be at higher levels? or at least, get there easier as Cecil kills everything.

It's not impossible, it just takes far too long for any sane person to attempt.
And the reality perspective, that's the reason exactly. Tellah old and wizened, is so glad to have remembered the ultimate destruction spell, yet uh... this five yeard old right next to him is popping them off like Fire1s. |

I've read that Palom doesn't get spells past about l.25?
Edit Wait, nevermind. According to some site, he learns meteo at l.50?? http://www.rpgclassics.com/shrines/snes/ff...har/palom.shtml Moderator Edit Please edit the first post instead of posting twice consecutively. Thanks! This post has been edited by Neal on 24th January 2004 06:45 |

You want crazier? I'm levelling Edward to 99 on a cartridge.
Did you think of using a SomaDrop? Though it's pointless since his stats suck. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

DP is right, heh. Tellah's Stats are quite, erm, shocking.. to say the least, at any level. So giving him more MP not only cheats it for you (has no affect on the story, regardless of his MP amount) but, eh, wastes items you could be using on Rydia/Rosa/Cecil/Edge heh.
Your not crazy, lol Trying to accomplish anything in particular with leveling Edward up? DP? |

Quote (Dawezy @ 25th January 2004 00:15) Trying to accomplish anything in particular with leveling Edward up? DP? Just trying to max out stats with how variable the Lv 70+ stat gains are. I'm actually doing it to everyone as soon as I get them (but I'll wait until Mysidia area for DK Cecil). I'm still on Kain -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

I've done it, you just need to have one of those fast past do dad thingies. Have everyone dead, except Porom, and then while having the controller on fastest conduct, hold the action button down and continously move around, hopefully, if you have him at a strong enough level b4 attempting, he'll reach level 59 within the hour. And 70 after just two more hours. But hey thats better than wasting your whole life on it.

In FF2US, there is this secret northern part above Mt. Ordeals that you can walk to that allows you to fight that monsters that you won't really fight until Troia(Tororia)
THey got rid of it for FFIVPS.... but it will speed up leveling for FF2US. Of course, by that I mean on the world map, walk north of the mountain and to the little extension of that Mysdian continent, you'll start fighting tougher monsters on the beach.
