Have you ever gone to Distant Worlds and thought, "okay, this is pretty awesome, but what if they did it just for Final Fantasy VII? And used the new arrangements from the Remake?" Well, okay, they kinda did that last year, sure. But that one-off is now a real thing, and we have the first dozen-plus dates for it for 2020 and 2021. This concert series is going to include the new Remake arrangements, as well as the new theme song that debuted last week. It will also have visuals from the new game, and will be directed by Arnie Roth; this, of course, might mean that Distant Worlds will be back-burnered for a while, but worse things have happened, surely.
No tickets are on sale until a couple weeks from now, but here are the known show dates:

Hmm, I can't decide if I want to go to the Chicago concert or not. FFVII isn't my favorite in the series, and that includes its music; as a whole, I like the music of VIII and IX more. I also can't afford to buy the Remake upon release, and while I don't expect much to change story-wise in the Remake there's still a chance of new things, and I am rather a spoiler-phobe.
On the other hand, Final Fantasy concerts are always a good time, and it would be good to get out of the house. Well, I've got time to decide. They don't usually sell out until closer to the concert date. -------------------- Watch me play games on Twitch! New dates were added recently, and I've added them to the OP for San Francisco, Atlanta, Paris, Barcelona, Nashville and Boston. Tickets for all of the US dates in 2020, as well as for Boston, are on sale now. On-sale dates for the international shows are mostly TBD, and sale dates for the other American 2021 shows start in the summer.
