YouTube Video
I was watching this YouTube video of the Atma Weapon fight on the PS1, and this strange glitch occurs around the 3:20 mark where Shadow does Capture and Locke does Throw! I can't seem to find an explanation for it in the list of known bugs. Any ideas? BTW, I tried to link to the point in the video where it happens, but the video seems to reset to the beginning when I do that, so you may have to sit through until it gets to that point. |

You are seeing weapon properties. Shadow's Thiefknife has a 50% chance of using the Capture command and Locke's Hawk Eye has a 50% chance of dealing 300% damage versus Floating targets (such as AtmaWeapon) and 150% damage versus non-Floating targets. Versus Floating targets, the Hawk Eye will show the the 'Thrown' animation.

Oh hey that is cool. I knew Shadow could steal, but I did not know the Hawk Eye had that property. That is really cool.

I thought he possesses a random but specific party member; maybe try killing each of them off in turn?

I would not have guessed that AtmaWeapon counted as a floating enemy. Now that's an odd one.

Quote (Glenn Magus Harvey @ 2nd November 2013 14:58) I would not have guessed that AtmaWeapon counted as a floating enemy. Now that's an odd one. I thought the same thing at first. The reason it seems odd is because his character graphic clearly portrays him as standing on the ground, and not up in the air. My guess is that the purpose of giving him the float status was to make him immune to his own use of Quake. So, it was more of a gameplay decision than an aesthetic one. |

Locke has a thrown effect sometimes for Wing Edge and Sniper. It can really devastate floating targets... Locke with two HawkEyes is pretty much overkill for any flying enemy you'll find in the WOB (except those stupid air force bosses)

Also this could be done via GameSkark codes.
It's very easy to change the sprites and change the commands. -------------------- His Divine Shadow |
