OK, here's an idea, similar to the trivia threads. We post riddles and solve them. Time to dust off the old brain! Here's the rules, similar to the trivia already here.
Quote Riddle rules: 1) One question on the board at a time please. 2) You may post a new question ONLY if you get the previous question correct. 3) Only post a new question after the question poser has confirmed an answer is correct or is satisfied the answer is sufficient. 4) Follow the normal board rules for off-topic posts. Questions about the current question or answer are still welcome. 5) Do not start a chain of answers (i.e. If R51 asks question one, and Tiddles answers, R51 can not answer the following question, whether it be asked by Tiddles or anyone who Tiddles passes the question to). 6) Only two answers (or guesses) per user, per riddle. 7) If a riddle has gone on for 2 days (48 hours) unsolved, then the riddler posts the correct answer, and the riddler position is up for grabs, meaning anyone else may post a new riddle. 8) Have fun. There they are. I'll start. You have two American coins that add up to 30 cents, and one of them is not a nickel. How is this possible? There is one quarter and one nickel. Only one of them isn't a nickel, so the other one can be.

It is a freezing day. You only have one match, with a lamp, a kerosene heater, and a wood burning stove. Which should you light first?

Okay...
You are driving a Bus from Glasgow to Linwood. In the city centre, five people get on. In Renfrew, three people get on, and two get off. In Paisley Town Centre, five people get on, and three go off. In Linwood, all of the passengers get off. How many passengers left at linwood, and what was the drivers name? -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

The correct answer has been given already. SM can confirm it. And New Jersey isn't a city.

I am a rock group that has 4 members, all of whom are dead, one of which was assasinated. What am I? -------------------- "My impersonation of an ordinary person was flawless." - Neal "Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened." - Dr. Seuss |

Good guess, but they still have two members alive. This is more of a place than a person.

Here's a hint, I never said it was a band. If you live or lived in the US you would know it.

I can't really remember any riddles, so I'll just steal from Tolkien.
A simple box without hinges or lid, but inside golden treasure is hid. Sorry to disapoint (All you tolkien fans might want to give the others a chance before you jump all over it). The question, of course, is what is the object I have described? |

Sorry to jump in, but I really love this riddle that I have here. Its kinda mathematical though.
What single punctuation mark can you put on each side of this equation to make it true? (Hint: / isn't a punctuation mark.) 560 = 600 |

Quote (Tidu-who @ 8th January 2004 23:26) I dont get it. What makes it Chicago? (i'm half polish, and i live an hour and a half from chicago..) Unless that's just a random fact or something. It was just a fact. And to answer Doughnut it's a :. Like a clock 5:60 = 6:00. You could also do 56^0 = 6^00 since they both would equal 0. I still think it is Figaro's turn however.
