I visit con flag-red.gif a lot and most of those times are on my phone not my computer I would love an app for the CavesOfNarshe it would be really nice and make the site a lot more accessible so lets make this happen

Yep, you're absolutely right about us needing to work on our mobile presence more. It's been a bit difficult for us because we didn't really design the site with smartphones in mind, even with its most current iteration - it's not quite as easy for us as sites who get their "design" packaged up as a template from their CMS or platform provider, because part of our mission is to do as much as possible from scratch so we can create the best user experience. #humblebrag

But, seriously, we're right there with you on that point. Our user experience (UX) for tablets is already pretty decent, because most good tablets in landscape mode aren't that different than small desktop screens. For tablets, I will want to reduce the page weight somewhat to make the UX better for people on cellular data and not wifi, but beyond that we're not in terrible shape.

For smartphones, I've got some more work to do. I rolled out some changes about a month ago that improved things considerably, but the experience on smartphones isn't great right now. Usable, not fantastic. After I wrap up my current development project for CoN, improving the mobile experience is one of the next couple I'll be taking on, hopefully in the second half of this year.

FWIW, anything we do will not be an app. I don't really believe in app wrappers for websites, because mobile websites themselves can do a fine job of presenting general information, and website bookmarks can already be added to the home screen of all major phone platforms (even though you have to do it in Safari if you're on an Apple device, which sucks). As part of any enhancement project we do, we'll help users add these bookmarks as well.

Like you, I'm usually on CoN via my phone.
But I have a Nokia Lumia. And unfortunately, all the apps you can get for Apple and Android are inaccessible to me. So even if these apps were made, there's going to be an odd one out (e.g, me).

This board has been here for a long time. With that being said thing change. I know the board is old but is there any chance for a mobile application or mobile support for the droid and iOS?

Merged your post with an existing topic on the matter. Here is my answer from a few posts up:

Unfortunately, CoN work has pretty much stopped at the moment. Would I still like to do this? Absolutely. We'll see, though. In any event, the forums are the least important part of making mobile-friendly; there aren't enough people visiting and posting every day for me to put that much effort into the forums right now. People still love the guide content, though, so that's a worthwhile goal.
