I really like them, because of their outfit, but their skill isn't so good, but i like the squire male's icon.

Indeed, but Ramza is good to be a Squire and not the others, that make me almost jealous, i wish that my Squires should equip Knight's swords, Heavy armour and having Ramza's special squire skill like Tailwind/Yell, Steel/Cheer up, Chant/Wish and Shout/Scream... but Focus/Accumulate is a bit good... i wish i could gameshark them but i don't have PSX Version...

The "guts" set that Ramza has is much better than the regular squires, but to start new characters I usually master them as squires first anyways. It's a good secondary skill set until you reach the advanced jobs.

I find 'em aesthetically drab, but a basic unit shouldn't look really flashy. They learn some good skills (Accumulate, Gained JP Up) but should be used as a pitstop before finding something better to do. Except Ramza...he can do whatever he wants and rock the house.

The funny answer is "Yes, I like squires...when they're face-down in a pool of Grog Hill rainwater."

I would use them if their stats isn't so low >_>
even if ramza can use heavy armor as squire, he stills has more attack and HP as a knight. :s

Their skillset is really quite good, especially for the early game.

Accumulate is great, both as a tactic (just sit back and grow more powerful as the enemies blunder dumbly towards you) and as a training tool (quick animation, can't miss).

Dash is one of the few repositioning tools available. Not great, with only a 50% chance, but it's still more reliable than any other option, especially since it ignores evasion.

Throw Stone is the other 50% repositioning tool, but I find it more useful for healing Sleep and Confuse.

Heal addresses the other common status effects you'll encounter early in the game.

And then there's the beautiful Gained JP Up, and Move +1 is quite nice for its cost.

It's a well-designed class. It gets you off to a great start, ability-wise, but encourages you to move on to other classes with its poor stats.

I think this tactic is way underrated by most players. I used it extensively in the last run I did with no random battles, as a confused or sleeping party member in a lower-level scenario like that can be damaging in a lot of different ways.

I always try to master my new recruits as Squires first, then use Squire ability as their secondary ability usually until I open more jobs and get more soldiers.

As stated already.

Accumulate. For the Win.

But Throw Stone can be very useful, and a Master Squire turned Monk can be a tank if you know what you're doing.

What a great game with some very bad 'sequels'.

Agree with you completely Anexu. Well worded. Squires are awesome but make a better secondary skill than a primary class.

Freaking love the way they look too. So clean and simple.

Freaking love them. Rock throw has to be the most underrated move in the game. It has saved me early in the game more times than I can count. Fundaments (basic skill) is a great secondary for knights and archers. Focus
(Accumulate) is very handy especially for gaining jp and exp. JP boost is also a great skill to have for the Mage classes.
