I'm replaying Final Fantasy 4, and I keep thinking of concepts for a sequel. Obviously Square isn't going to do anything in terms of a sequel, but, if possible, I'd like to try.
Here's the deal, I'd like to find out if it's at all possible to alter FF4 in such a way that I could make a new game from materials of the old. I know FF6 has mod tools released for it that let people change scripts, monster data, etc., so I was wondering if anything was available for download in terms of that. Unfortunately I don't even know what to call a tool like that to even search for it. If anybody also knows another way to mod the game or something similar to what I'm looking for, I'd appreciate any info at all So, is this even possible? Or am I basically asking for the impossible? If I can't find anything at all, or it proves to be too much for me to handle, I suppose I could just write a fanfic with my ideas *shrug* -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention. Yeah, they definitely would never think about making a sequel for Final Fantasy IV. They would probably not release it in downloadable chunks via WiiWare, no siree.
As for level editors, no. They do all tend to be for FF6, the only way to do it without is manually with a hex editor and vast amounts of knowledge. |

Oh wow! I never thought Square would do that :x
I stand corrected. And bummer on the lack of editing tools for FF4. That would've been fun, too -------------------- "A little tight, but the price was right" - Locke "Oh, what a Fuddy Duddy" - Relm "..." - Shadow "I'm a General, not some love starved twit" - Celes "Although Edgar showers his attention on the ladies, most are smart enough to pay him no attention.
