Is there a trick to learning this? I'm in Phoenix's Tower, and it seems Roulette is only hitting the Bella Donna that casts it.

Nevermind. I switched my equipment around to lower my magic defense, and it finally hit me. I don't know if that influences it, but that's what happened.

It's Roulette. It's random. Magic Defense doesn't have any influence on it whatsoever, you were just getting unlucky. That was one of the most difficult for me to learn, too, except for Big Guard because I could never run into that thing.

Maybe it didn't influence whether or not Roulette hit me, but it did seem to influence the succes rate of it. When my Mag Defense was higher, the Bella Donnas were attempting Roulette (message came up at the top), but it would only perform 10% of the time. Alot of times Butz did Samurai's Evade motion or held up his shield while it was being cast, and it wouldn't start.

interesting fact: wearing the cursed ring (FF5 cursed ring) makes you invincible to roulette, even if you get the evil X on you, you do not die...
i wonder if it works always, or only when you are condemned by it (you can have it and not be condemned by it if you die because of the condemnation and then brought back to life) and on a different note: cheers to Dark Paladin for the 666 posts This post has been edited by Black Mage on 22nd October 2003 14:10 -------------------- "FLAELI!!!" --- Rune Walsh |

Jikuu is Japanese for "Time." It's Time Magic.
