Hay guys,
I'm new here by the way, so HI!!!! tongue.gif

Anyway, I just bought FF1&2 Anniversary Edition for the PSP. I'm playing through FF1 at the moment and really enjoying it. It's the first time I've played a Final Fantasy game (apart from FF7 on PS1), and it's really fun. Graphics are better than I expected! So yeah, I'm currently at Elfheim, and have just seen the prices for Lvl 4 Spells. eh.gif Long story short, I need some cash,
and while I am willing to just grind on ogres for hours (I seriously love this game), I was wondering if there is a quicker method for earning money. I tried out the Ship Minigame which rewards a whopping 10,000 gil (!!!) if you get below 30 seconds, but I tried it and got 4minutes 38 for my first try. Heh...

So yeah, if you know of any good ways to make money (maybe good grinding spots if that's all there is), I would appreciate it greatly if you shared. smile.gif

Sincerely and Lovingly,
Cakey

Welcome! I voted "Cake" in 2008, but it didn't work out so well.

With regards to your actual question, you shouldn't necessarily need the level four spells if you've just reached Elfheim. Have you had a go at the Marsh Cave yet, and had trouble, and that's what made you want the more powerful spells? Or are you just looking to get them because they're available?

Anyway, I think (I haven't played FF1 in a couple years, and my PSP has no charge right now) the best Gil spots around where you are in the Marsh Cave, and you might still be early enough where the glitchy monster encounter area to the north is still useful if you can manage it. We've got a FAQ question that shows where this area is: http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/ff1/faq.php#Q61

Thanks for the fast reply, Rangers (and also for the vote tongue.gif),

Yeah the reason I want the spells is basically that they're available, but if you think they're unnecessary at this point I'll just leave 'em and try and the Marsh Cave (which I haven't attempted as of yet).

I'll try the northern area you suggested.

Thanks a bunch,
Cakey.
