Both of these tracks brushed by their competitors in round 1, doubling them up in votes. Neither was an upset as per the seeds, so this has the makings of a pretty close matchup, in theory.

The Great Warrior from Final Fantasy VII is a bit of an underrated track - I never seem to hear too much about it in general discussion but it did manage to push its way to a #4 seed here. This is sometimes known as Seto's Theme, as it plays when Red XIII learns the truth about his heritage from Bugenhagen, setting the quadriped's mind toward saving the world. It's a gorgeous scene, punctuated by this understated but heroic piece of music.

Corridors of Time is the overworld theme for the Kingdom of Zeal, and it brings a soothing melody and beat to the environment to match the idyllic setting in which Crono and crew find themselves upon arrival. Understandably, it shares some characteristics with Schala's Theme, another entry in these brackets.

Zeal forever! As wondrous as it is corrupted, the doomed city's theme opts to be hopeful about the future and the possibilities it could bring, rather than its impending demise by its disastrous rulers.

(Both tracks being of a similar mood, albeit not a similar circumstance narratively, makes a proper comparison easier.)

While I'm not a big fan of Corridors of Time's instrumentation, my vote goes to that, because I think it thematically flows better than The Great Warrior.

Not to say The Great Warrior is bad either -- the last CoN music tourney introduced me to it and I'm actually pretty fond of it myself. Its looping is a little less smooth than Corridors's looping, though.
