In my honest opinion, I think that all of FFV's summon monsters have great usefulness to each other (except Chocobo and that fish summon).

For example, the Fairy summon drains hp from one monster and recovers each HP of the alive characters 25% from the amount drained, The Phoenix attacks an enemy with a very strong fire attack, and yet it revives one character, Bahamut deals non-elemental damage regardless of defense (good too), Hydra attacks with thunder (boost of Ramuh!), Carbunkle gives Reflect, Golem protects you with his big ol' hands of justice (tongue.gif), Odin kills your enemies or attacks them physically, and so on..

My hat's off to Phoenix. Even thought its weaker than Bahamut, it revives your dead characters.. Bahamut is second, and Golem/Carbunkle's second.

I think both FFV and FFVI had the best summons.

Pheonix- res = good

Bahamut. I always loved seeing a huge dragon flying in and decimating all enemies.

so far, Hydra, (Faris' dragon thunder summon) but I guess I'll go with Bahamut once I see it, got Phoenix the other day, but havn't seen it yet!

Remora can be useful because it can paralize enemies. I like Shiva summon , particulary from this game, because it looks supreme. ( The diamond dust attacking enemies and then forming into Shiva was original )

I'm going to have to go with Golem since he protects the whole party from physical attacks.

i would have to say golem cause in the end he helped me alot

For me it was a toss up between four of them, golem and carbuncle are amazing utility summons and bahamut is great for damage, but my favorite is definitely Phoenix as it mixes some good damage with resurrection. Syldra is another good summon too but doesn't rate near as high as the aforementioned.

Golem, easily. Access denied!

My favorite is Bahamat, without question. I prefer direct damage to other round-about ways of killing things. I do generally use some buffs, especially Hastega, but I prefer to just kill everything.

Story-wise, my favorite is probably Syldra.

It's also rather unique in its appearance, style, and properties.

That is how you deal with Zeromus, after all

Edge starts the fight with the Spoon, Rydia summons Bahamut nonstop, Rosa heals and buffs as needed, and Kain and Cecil just lay into the moogerfooger

Odin is another favorite of mine, though, but I prefer to protect rather than try for instakills that usually don't come off

Spoon those are characters from ff2 lol. However that is a sound strategy

I love Ifrit but i hate Sylph

Syldra/Hydra. When you have a weapon that increases wind damage (Wizard Rod or an Air Lancelet) it can damage like Bahamut for about half the MP.

Do you mean Damage wise or Coolness wise?
Damage: Bahamut
Defence Golem
Coolness: Shiva and Ramuh

I like the idea of the ice queen, and Ramuh, the old powerful man, but in the end i vote Golem.
