Cyan's theme narrowly got past Devil's Lab most recently, and also sneaked past the Aria in round 1. It's clearly capable of winning very tough matchups by the skin of its teeth. The Ending Theme from X beat out At Zanarkand and One-Winged Angel, though, so it's got some bite too.
Cyan's Theme reflects the man himself, with a driven tympani line and a heroic melody punctuated with the jingle of bells. Again befitting the character, it has an air of a never-ending quest, in this case his own salvation after loss. In the last competition, Cyan was a six seed, winning two rounds' matchups before falling to Celes' Theme. The Ending Theme for Final Fantasy X incorporates previous themes with its own melodies, a pattern familiar to players of prior games in the series. At Zanarkand, of course, is part of that overture, meaning that its spirit lives on here... or something. |

I think it's kind of ridiculous Cyan's Theme has made it this far. Time for it to go.

Gonna be honest: I was probably gonna pick Ending Theme regardless just because it's the only remaining FFX track. It's hard to be fair when comparing a highly orchestrated final theme to an SNES track, but I think even just weighing the arrangement and the melodies does the trick here pretty easily: Ending Theme is just the better piece.

Cyan's theme, cuz it has a unique character all its own, and it's just plain catchier. Plus I'm kinda miffed that Ending Theme took down OWA.

While the FF10 ending theme is tuneful, it's less compact of a package than Cyan's theme. It also has that last bit that sticks out oddly when listening to it by itself.
I know, it's written around the animation of the epilogue, but still, we're just talking the music here. My vote goes to Cyan's theme. At first, I favored Ending Theme here. But then, the idea of Cyan's theme pulling out wins by the skin of its teeth latched on. The thought amuses me enough to pick it and see if maintains the trend all the way to the top.
