I've seen a commercial of it once. Very odd...characters from all kinds of games etc. all wrapped up and random. I need to know more about it to judge it.

I'll play it if it's free. The idea of a Square RPG is yumm, but Disney-Square RPG is kinda "ehhh" to me. I saw the commercial and it didn't really catch my eye.

Just to tell you, the system is very unique. First of all, the battle toolbar (Attack, Magic, Item) is displayed even when you're walking through town. In this case, there is no annoying intervals like Chrono Trigger when you engage battle on the map and there is this seven second interval where the battle toolbar shows up and the characters strike a pose. However, enemies appear from thin air, making it rather like a random battle system. Also, like in Golden Sun, magic plays part in the environment. If I remember correctly, aiming a fire spell at certain items can cause it to burn/crack/explode/whatever. Also, using spells will unlock many paths and goodies. However, with the battle control bar on the screen most of the time, you don't need to access a full-screen menu to use the spell. Also, you take control of only one character, which is Sora. Donald and Goofy are just there to help. However, don't mistaken them for just another stupid AI; their AI is actually made rather well. Your allies can attack the enemy in the best suitable way. Also, they will heal you with potion if you're health is low. To put it in the way, the allies' AI is as good as the ones in Final Fantasy Tactics. That's pretty much it.

I read a review on it in EGM while my tires were being changed (3 FREAKING HOURS
 ) Said the camera angles sucked, and something about a gummi ship, but other than that it's suposed to be really good. -------------------- "Number One, I order you to go take a number two." |

My friend Melanie got it and she said it was good.. And someone from another message board said it was cool to just watch it... So at the end of the month I'm buyin it... if I can. O_o
I think Cloud looks KICK ASS in the game! >_< And Squall looks way better... Cid looks worse, Yuffie looks better, Aeris looks better, Selphie just scares the hell outta me, Wakkaaaaaugh looks better, and Cloud looks SO COOL! >_< ...But I already said that... I'll definitely try it out.
I can't imagine it would become my favorite game of all time, or anything, but the idea is innovative, and the original Square characters look pretty cool, as do the updated versions of old PS-X party members. The inclusion of Disney characters is a bit odd, but refreshingly new in the broad scope of things. Naturally, the gameplay is going to be good, since Square is doing the majority of the development in that area. I'll look forward to the graphics and FMVs, as well. The plot seems fairly interesting, to boot. In the end, I must say that I am at the very least intrigued by Kingdom Hearts, and I hope that I won't be disappointed. On a positive side note, I've heard that an English version re-mix of Utada Hikaru's "Hikari" will play on the opening, or the ending, or something. I think it'll be pretty good. I read a little about it, and it looks very unique and refreshingly new. I mean, we all ask for new games, right? Square will come through with the gameplay no doubt, and Disney characters aren't all bad, eh? Final Fantasy and Disney sounds kinda off at first, but I don't think it'll bomb.

I must say I'm intrigued by it to say the least. I saw a preview of it on a tv in a game store once, and the graphics appear to be very well done.

I don't think it's going to be that good... Mostly because it has the Disney characters in it. Also, I hate the shoes! They're too big! The music on the commercial sounds pretty good though.

I must say, it looks good, and the cameo's by some of the characters from FF7, FF8, FF9, and FF10. Cloud looks like a bad ass! and I have even herd that another certin FF7 character will make an aparence, Who you ask? I give you a hint, Major FF7 Character, Many players love him, It's the bad man himself, Sephiroth. I'm not telling you when you get to battle him, but let me give you a tip, be prepared for one nasty fight! Overall, this looks like another classic in the making. |
