Has ANYONE played this or even heard of it? It's basically an extremely condensed version of FFXV, but very linear and focusing on the story of FFXV...

Basically, it's so people who haven't been able to play it because of PC specs or not having a PS4 can play it on the Switch/Mobile...

It's only 30 bucks but I'm wondering if it would be even worth it...

Those who have played FFXV, was that game's story engaging? Were the characters memorable? Seems like a good way to get back into the Final Fantasy series for me but I honestly haven't liked a FF game since FFX, and that did NOT age well. At all.

Haven't played it, but definitely heard of it. https://www.cavesofnarshe.com/news/article/...v-gamescom-news

I don't think it has sold all that well so far, which might be part of why you're wondering if anyone's played it. $30 is the default price from release, though, so if you're interested I'd consider waiting for it to pop on sale, IMO. Based on my impressions of your preferences, I kind of doubt you'd be a fan, and I'm saying this as someone who has over a hundred hours into the full version of XV and enjoyed them but still has some significant quibbles about the story.

I haven't played the pocket edition, but I played FFXV itself and loved it so much I started a New Game+ of it a mere month and a half after completing the game.

The beauty of FFXV lies in the interaction between the characters. It's just so delightful, and makes up for any flaws in the storytelling. Sadly, I do think the story has flaws - I found it a bit confusing on my first play. I played the Day One edition, though, and I've heard that they've added more cut scenes since then. As I now own the Royal Edition, I'm hoping the new scenes help flesh out the story.

I do think FFXV is worth playing, but I don't think I'd spend $30 on the pocket edition, not when the full game is currently on sale for $25.

Thanks for the responses, peeps. You have both convinced me to NOT buy it hahaha

It's actually all for the best probably, because FFIX just got released on the Switch, X/X-2 and XII - The Zodiac Age are all getting Switch releases.

I'm actually really considering FFXII - The Zodiac Age as a purchase and giving that game another chance but of all the FF games I hated the grinding in that one the most.

And sorry about posting the thread in the wrong forum lol

I did not play the pocket edition too, but I played FFXV despite some small defect for a game develop in 3 years, it's a good game, the proposed universe is great, the music too

I did on mobile and yeah I couldn't get into it. With FFXV at least you have a sim....somwhat and freedom here and there. Playing the pocket edition is like playing FF13 your playing a hallway simulator and taking out the exploration of the game
