Caves of Narshe Forums > Final Fantasy Tactics > My flawless game of FFT's

I beat the game not in the quickest or flashiest way. I simply had no game overs and won every fight. I'm sure any dedicated gamer of this game can do it too. I feel like I can finally put the game down on its twenty year anniversary.

I'm a little disappointed I didn't record it. I have a description of it and an older video showing me beat the game in a solo way.

10-20-17 to 11-20-17 will live in a gaming celebration. I completed a flawless Final Fantasy Tactics game on its twenty year anniversary. I went from start to finish without a game over meaning I won all battles. Also, no permanent team character deaths. I have no recording of it. I can still show the ending from Dorter. I renamed Ramza this: The Maser. Zodiac Sign Aries 03-25.
Notable events in the game.
I have four generic starting characters. Two men and two women.
From start to finish I mostly used the abilities item, steal, autopotion, punch art. I did master many classes to ensure victory.
I bought enough Hi-Potions and X-Potions for ability.
I had to Yell / Autopotion to beat Wiegraf.
I used Ninjas to beat the rooftop with Elmdor at Riovanes.
Bernvenia Free City requires care in a tense battle.
I, The Master, learned Math Skill at this point.
I managed to learn Ultima and steal all of Elmdor's equipment in Limberry Castle. This is still without a game over.
Draw Out saves you late in the game. It uses Magic Power that way I gave the ability to my Bards. It drained some of my money.
The dancers stood way in the back dancing the Wiznibiz.
I finish the game in under fifty hours under the level sixty mark. I achieved level fifty nine with ninety five experience points when Ajora fell from my Holy Blast.
Now I add a flawless FFT's game to my gaming record.
---
General Early History of game. 1997-1998
Well-known that Orlandu makes the game too easy. I used him to win in this flawless game though I was careful.
Beowulf and Reis sidequest unknown to many back then. I beat the game without getting several characters. Cloud, Worker Eight, Beowulf, Reis, and Byblos not added to my party. Boca the chocobo was dismissed.
It's better to be a women when you need the perfume. The Chantage with maintenance can make you immortal when you farm them. I stole one from Meliadoul in Bernevia Free City and her weapon the Defender.
People could beat the game easy enough to not master every class. I imagine Math Skill, Sing, Dance, and Mime had less impact early on.
Thanks to myself, the developers, fans, and gaming in general.
The End.

I think if you want to go really "flawless" you should consider doing it with no characters being permanently lost - not necessarily that difficult - or with no casualties at all in the Brave Story record (meaning, you restart any battle where any character is brought to 0 HP). I did the latter exactly once and would never have the patience to do it again.

It's that gray area / uncertain area on what defines perfection? I didn't dismiss anyone nor did anyone on my team crystallize in my run. I'm sure I have dozens of people I brought back to life with Revive, Phoenix Down, and Raise. No fatalities.

How about all of your attacks hitting? I'm sure there's Solo Ramza runs with leveling up and Math Skill. But how can that be perfectly Solo when the first Gariland Battle and Mandalia Plains are forced team battles.

Sure you can not add characters and only use yourself to Save Algus or destroy the deathcorps but I don't want to make a game too hard for no reason.

Most people I know don't have the time or patience for it either. biggrin.gif

Edit-to clarify it Rangers51.

I wouldn't do a no death game based off the fact if Celia or Lede does a successful stop bracket I'd have to restart the game. If I really wanted to beat the games with no deaths I'd have four generics and myself learn math skill right away. On Mandalia plains at level 1. But what does doing that really achieve? Every character but Ramza can permanently die in your party and you can still win the game. biggrin.gif

We're making the same point here. You're defining a "flawless" game the way you want to, and I would define it a different way. That's why I feel like talking about how anything being "perfect" or "flawless" is a little disingenuous.

Also, I didn't say anything about restarting the game with no deaths, just the battle.

Mine is no game overs. For those new to the game all my characters (up to five) didn't die and turn into a crystal. And if one of them crystallized they would stay dead. But none of them died and turned into a crystal.

Edit-You are right it is possible to make the game more challenging. I decided to record it after all. See, I'm not lazy. I also learn Ultima and steal on the Genji Equipment in this run.
