Saw this on Kotaku earlier today. He's done a lot of these from several games, but he just posted these and I knew I needed to share them. Each pixel is made from a single painted wooden block, as I understand it.

That is really neat. Josh and I were looking at costs for something like that, and it wouldn't be cheap, but if you had experience woodworking, you could probably at least make your own blocks for fairly cheap.

They're beautiful. How long will they stay that bright if left outside?

They look so amazingly brightly-colored at first I thought this was photoshopped.
