Ok, get ready because I have a LOT of backgrounds that my cpu alternates thru.
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...nationv27dn.jpg In case you didn't know, Tamami-Chan is a character from an anime still in Japan, called Mahoraba (Heartful Days). Square-Enix plays some part in it, though I can't remember what ATM. Needless to say, it is the first anime by square-enix that doesn't have some dark backstory or bloody scenes or anything of the sort (i.e. FMA). One of those happy happy things. Hard to believe... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...lt/1024x768.jpg this is inside my 3d MagiTek armor. I'll put my updates to it in the submissions section. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/strikerbolt/roots.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...lt/One_Life.jpg http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...lt/FF7_tifa.jpg my favorite http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...itoboushibg.jpg from yami to boushi no hon no tabibito. That's right, 800 x 600. It makes Favre BIG. I like an uncluttered desktop, filled only with the programs I actively use. By the way, Valius, Baldur's gate 2: Throne of Bhaal is awesome, no? This post has been edited by TheEvilEye on 10th October 2005 17:43 |

The second to last image of Strikerbolt's is the cover to Fire Sea, the third book in the Seventh Gate cycle by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman, who indeed wrote the Dragonlance and Darksword novels. Well chosen.

Some of my recent wallpapers include:
http://web.mit.edu/derrict/Public/seraph_kneeling.PNG http://web.mit.edu/derrict/Public/seraph_running.PNG http://web.mit.edu/derrict/Public/seraph_running2b.PNG The character is, again, from the Seraph flash game. (I don't remember the link; just do a Google search for Seraph.swf .) Although, considering what I've been seeing on that desktopgaming website and that cool (or hot?) picture that that anime-pic person posted in the midst of stuff I wouldn't ever use, it might change soon. -------------------- current games (2024-02-19): Fairy Fencer F ADF Pokémon Perfect Crystal finished so far this year: Gato Roboto drowning, drowning New Super Mario Bros. Quote (Cloud_Strife510 @ 22nd October 2005 16:16) self explanatory background and a good one at that THAT is key image editing. Sol Lewitt, currently on exhibition at the Met in NYC on the roof. Lousy scan from my pamphlet from the exhibition - the print I bought is too large to scan. I sized the image down to 800x600 for viewing pleasure. I'm not sure how to post my actual desktop, so I'll just say what I've been using recently.
I used this wallpaper from around October to around New Year's. I saw it in an Adult Swim interlude awhile ago, and decided I really liked the setting and the tint on it. After I replaced my hard drive around a month and a half ago or so, I decided to return to an old favorite, a wallpaper which I've used off and on for the past three years or so. It's an official wallpaper from Skies of Arcadia, which is one of my favorite RPGs of all time. However, for some reason planetdreamcast.com has joined the ranks of FilePlanet for all of its wallpapering needs, so I had to resort to Google to find it again. For the past two weeks, however, I've been using this. It's a side view of a galaxy that the Hubble telescope found a few years ago. They decided to name it the "sombrero galaxy", even though it's basically a nifty side view of a spiral galaxy like our own Milky Way. When I saw this picture, I immediately knew where it was going. You can find all kinds of different resolutions on spacetelescope.org (as detailed as 175 MB), but I decided to go easy on you by posting a much easier-to-view smaller file. I cleaned up a bit my desktop before taking a pic from it.
I have the same wallpaper for 3-4 months, all I know where this picture comes from is that it was made by someone called Shingo from the Shaman King staff. That's the only information I was able to find. Sadly, my Windows XP is in French and that's annoying. But I'm getting used to Linux so that shouldn't be a problem anymore. Laszlow, to post your desktop, simply use a screenshot program or press "Print Screen" on your keyboard and paste it on a program like photoshop or paint, then save. Host it with something such as www.imageshack.com simple no? This post has been edited by Zodiac on 13th February 2006 19:27 -------------------- Sayonara |

After I reinitialized my comp, i went looking around Hongfire.com for some cool anime pics. Ive set some as my desktop:
http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/strikerbolt/Mr.jpg The scary part is he's not cosplaying... http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/strikerbolt/AFX6.jpg I like this one. The character from the anime has ADD, so it kinda fits. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/strikerbolt/YTB.jpg A nice action shot from my 2nd favorite non-dubbed anime http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a308/str...bolt/ELwall.jpg and this is my current desktop. NOTE: Elfin Lied is not an anime for anyone under 17. It contains lots of blood, gore, limb lossage, nudity, and moral corruption. Very good though. Offtopic: I know there is a program that will change your desktop picture every so often, but I have had trouble finding it. Can anyone send me a link? -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

I don't have my own computer, I jus' use what's here at home. If I had my own PC, I'd use either FFVIII wallpaper, or put up some art work if I had artist's permission as I have no aptitude in art, I've tried! Or some cool-lookin' night-time city scenery.

I always used to have this one:
...because I bought a Mari-chan mug a while back and went on the website, and just fell in love with the background. And, earlier this morning, I made my first background - Unfortunately the sketch doesn't look too good scanned - in the actual picture the colours seem richer. There are plenty of things wrong with it too (for example, hands are too small) but I like it! Oh, and before I got this computer, I had a really bad one. I used to write rude words on the screen and find them extremely funny. -------------------- 'Bastards, we may be, but clever are we.' Thorn, FFIX |

I went from my Street Fighter screenshot background to the English national football team background to a sweet photograph of Chelsea players holding up the Champions' League trophy...then I fell in love with this picture:

NarratorWay's wins. XD
I always just end up using screenshots of whatever I'm working on (edit: that sprite's a christmas version; I just didn't get around to switching back to the old textures... Ain't she cute? ). Keeps me motivated. JPG compression fuffed it up a bit but meh, it's either that or 1.5 megs of 24bpp PNG That's a cluttered desktop, IMO. More than 5-6 icons is cluttered to me. I need to clean up a few things. One of my collegues at work had more icons on his desktop than wallpaper; it was just... I dunno. I just felt so dirty looking at such a crowded desktop. :_: Advice to anyone unsure how to post their desktop pics: go to http://imageshack.us/ It's free, easy to use, and even gives you a sexy copy-paste link to put in forums. You can be sure your bandwidth won't run out with them. Edit: Threw in the second picture since I just changed my desktop pic. It feels damned good having the original sprite back in there instead of the christmas one. :x This post has been edited by Silverlance on 16th March 2006 04:08 -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Not an action shot though, becuase my desktop's waaay too cluttered to even see most of the image. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

Because I think I found a cool wallpaper, and I'm using it right now.

I usually can't stand photos of people/celebrities as desktops, but I just had to use this pic. For those that don't know, she's Diane Neal, that hottie A.D.A. from L&O: SVU. I really love her eyes in this shot, and the mouth, nose, hair....

Kickass fanart of Palom and Porom. I haven't played Flyff regularly for a while, but I loved the art in this wallpaper. God damn. I really need to buy this game. I keep forgetting to pick it up whenever I get money. *Sigh* More Fire Emblem goodness! "Leon! Leon, help me!"
