what stratagies did you all use in boss battles? im so curios so i starsed this. ill tell you my statagy (mind my spelling please) on my knite i used herme's shoose to dubble his attacks to 16 hits and had my ninja use hast on him self for the same results them my white wizerd use protectra (sheald 2 in the nes grafics verson) and red wizerd use invisra (invis 2 in the nes graphics vreson) then the next turn knite and ninja attacked the boss while the white wizerd used healaga (heal3)
and red wizerd use temper on one melee attacker. the 3rd turn was the same as the 2nd turn and the 4th and onword untill victory knite(3700 damage) and ninja (2500 damage) attacked, white wizerd used healaga, and red wizerd used judgement staff (flare when used) or lightbringer (sword(holy when used)) i never died with that plan of attack. with death's gaze (wishperwind cove floor 40) same plan ecept for the 4th and onword turns knite, ninja, and red wizerd used judgement staffs while white wizerd used healaga. the judgement staff is from atamose in lifespring grotto floor 10 it is only usible by a black wizerd. now what was all of your plans for killing bosses? Like i said on the second line please mind my spelling. and sorry for the long sentenses... -------------------- I may not be good at comebacks but i rock at everything else... Wait... For *every* boss in the game, use a combination of Haste and Temper on your best attacker, and have him attack over and over while the other characters heal, defend, or cast Temper again. That's the best way to defeat every single boss battle. The best attacker are usually Masters, then Knights, then Ninjas.

Yeah, bosses was certainly one of FF1's weak points... They were so boring, and if you were too weak, the only way to improve would be levelling up or using the right elemental spell... that was kinda it for tactics.. bummer (though some of the music in that game was plain awesome..)

I pretty much just used Haste and Temper on my Monks/Masters, and then the battles were over pretty quick.

Lich is undead, so I usually paste him with HRM3 and FIR3 instead of buffing my fighters. It's usually quicker. But for any other boss, FAST/TMPR all the way.
Oh, and if Tiamat refuses to die quickly enough and someone gets bored, they wave the bane sword around to try for a cheap finish. This post has been edited by mehael on 13th November 2007 04:39 -------------------- "Getting upset over a trifle would indeed be unmannerly." -Afra to Damia |

Hmm, talking about the four fiends, Kary/Marilith can be paralyzed, Kraken can be confused and Tiamat can be defeated with the spell "Brak". I even won the final battle with the special effect of the Bane sword. Heh.

I'm almost tempted to play through the game again on the NES to test these weaknesses. Almost. -------------------- |

It's true. Kary can also be put to sleep, and Tiamat can also be BANED. Chaos can even be MUTED. But the last two aren't reliable enough to base your strategy on, imho.
