I didn't think he knew anything about FFV, either, but then the next day he asked me if I was interested in the Item Drop data. Freakin computer programmers are FAST.

Well, we can assume he has ~65,000 (don't know exact number) HP, the most the hex can count to, or whatever.

If I didn't have my PSone in storage, I'd GameShark a new save and find out if you can actually beat him or not...

You can beat him, I did it! Then it continues on as if I didn't - not suprised. Well it was fun! He must have more than 65000 hp; but not much more. Thanks for everyone's input.

I would think his hp max is 65535, the general max used in hex systems...could be wrong though, if it is, have fun with that!

His HP could 'refill', like Zeromus' does.

Yeah, the most it can go up to is ~65,000, but it just refills after the first set of that is lost, so people seem to think he has ~120,000.
Or something along those lines. I don't know how it works in the programming. -------------------- |

From what I heard it was random, so anytime in the battle his HP could reach full, so Zeromus could have up to 129,999 HP

I've got to finish this one... Having just picked up FFIV again I thought I'd give it a bash. In hindsight this wasn't exactly a spectacular achievement. I mean, this is beating the guy who says: "I've heard there are people with the power to summon monsters. Summoners they call them."
![]() He sort of turns into stone then fades away. I didn't get a scrn cpt before so hopefully this will clear things up. I thought that I might fight Golbez this time round after but no cigar And this time I promise I will finish the game! I'll find another challenge along the way though This post has been edited by sweetdude on 14th December 2006 11:03 -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Yes this is where you fight him in Fabul Castle. I'm working on making it into a video - but still trying to lower the size of the file. Once I've done this I'll put it up on YouTube. I'll link it from here. Hopefully then there'll be no more controversy.

Amazing how the programmers made it so "if" he was beaten (extremely rare) they would take the time and do special effects like Kain turning to stone..
So what happens after you did beat him? Did the game continue on its normal engine story? -------------------- "FFII/FFIV is simply the best role playing game ever created." - 1994-2006 |

Quote So what happens after you did beat him? Did the game continue on its normal engine story? I remember this. I just game genied my FFVI and got him to Level 99 with battleing goblins. It's not all that great, even though it fun if your bored. You get no items, not special items, or any extra out of the game by doing this. It's as if you never won, even though you did (evil people are such cheaters). Like the screenshot though. How did you get it, rom perhaps? And which? -------------------- Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Chrsit for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost Acts 4:12 Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost |

Yeah the game just rolls on... disappointment. Also if he says "This is it Cecil (or whatever name)" and attacks, the battle blacks out and the game continues - even if Cecil is still alive.
The effects of Kain's "death" are nothing special. He only goes grey and fades, but it does look like stone. And it lasts about a second. And FFM, I don't really know what you mean -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. Me on the Starcraft. |

Wow, I can only dream of doing something like that. I wouldn't have the patience to get Cecil to level 99. I'm glad that you did it though, so that it cleared up another rumour and proved it to be true. Congrats!

Quote And FFM, I don't really know what you mean . I'm no programmer. Sorry Edit Oh, and I didn't mean you used a gamegenie or a shark code, I just said "I" did. Quote (FF Master @ 15th December 2006 23:00) Sorry, I didn't mean to confuse you. I thought it was a simple question. It was, don't let me lower your general view of gamers' programming abilites. And the emulator? It was VisualBoyAdvance. I don't have the Steiner-like perseverance to get to 99 without the throttle/frame skip. But it still took a lot of hours. It's the GBA version, FFIV Advance believe it or not KEddy: Thanks. I was expecting him to be invincible (never believe the rumours). Got quite a shock when he died. Edit: Kain's death is identical to the Dark Knight's in Mt Ordeals (I'm there finally). Just thought I'd mention before I forget, because this really is sterling stuff...
