...I'd never imagine this one would be possible to complete with super-low levels.
Take a look. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N-R9FEXiOCw (Part One) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdYIhHCXQu8 (Part Two) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6d3spalmgs (Part Three) It's pretty long. Quote (Equipment (to the best of my abilities)) Cain: Right Hand: Dragon Shield Left Hand: Gugnir Lance (0_o;) Head: Green Beret Body: Black Belt Arm: Power Wrist Rosa: Right Hand: Power Staff Left Hand: - Head: Priest's Cap Body: White Robe Arm: Daiya Bracelet? (Dia Bracelet? Short for Diamond Bracelet?) Cecil: Right Hand: - Left Hand: Genji Shield Head: Dragon Helm Body: Dragon Mail Arm: Dragon Gauntlet Rydia: Right Hand: Firebute (Whip) Left Hand: - Head: Golden Hair Ornament (Gold Hairpin) Body: Light Robe Arm: Gold Bracelet Edge: Right Hand: Cat's Claw Left Hand: Cat's Claw Head: Genji Helmet Body: Genji Armor Arm: Genji Gauntlet What an amazing strategy! Using Light Curtains like that...I never knew Zeromus reacted in such a way to spell items! Makes me want to go...well, actually *kills Zeromus again to see the ending again* There's also a low level CES series of videos, but I wanted to focus on this, because I've never honestly even believed it (FFIV) could be completed like this. Which once again proves how awsome Kain is.
This is why Kain is always in my ultimate teams Kain owns all. His jump is superior to every skill to ever exist in FF. Yes even FFT's calc Man i love Kain. This gives me respect for him in an all new way I knew that if this were to be done it'd depend largely on kain. Kain is the MAN -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

I can't watch the videos since I'm at work, but wow. FF4? Now THAT's a surprise.
FF6 is terribly easy - it's hardly a challenge. It's just as hard as I'd expect an RPG to be because it gets you thinking in battles and trying different things to beat bosses you'd normally muscle your way through (why bother with spells when attacks hurt just as much?) And let's face it, the algorithms are crap. You can survive most physical attacks at the lowest level when in the back row. But FF4! Now that's something! There are no uber-bugs to take advantage of (genji glove + offering, vanish + doom...) or overpowered items (gem box, economizer, atma weapon...) I have to try this after I'm through playing Out of this World. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

That's pretty nuts. So much time had to go into figuring out the pattern in order to defeat the fight like that. Not to mention it can't have been easy to get to Zeromus with that party.

Geez. Does anyone else kind of feel sorry for Zeromus now? This thing reminds me of the old Tom & Jerry cartoons. I always felt sorry for the cat in that one. Try as he might, he could never catch the pest.

when i first beat ff4 everybody was gone except kain and he had 14 hp when i beat zeromous, it felt so good, but after seeing that i feel like a dope cause my levels were in the 50's! the ff6 video is quite impressive as well though how do they have those levels so far in the game? in both ff4 and ff6?

Quote (Zeromus_X @ 14th September 2006 14:40) Equipment (to the best of my abilities) Good job on the equipment translations. Yes, Rosa's armband is the Diamond Bracelet. Her weapon, however, is the Energy Staff. Also, note how Kain switches to the Blood Sword in the last video for hilarious effect. (I'm surprised Meteo isn't a one hit kill on him.) |

I'm sure that took a very long time to do. He must have played and planned that strategy over a million times so he could get the moves and speed right. Like if he wanted an Exilir, he knew when he opened the menu screen, all he had to do was go down so many and to the right or stay at the left. (ex. tonic, 2 spaces down, 1 space to the right, push enter.)

I am in complete awe! How in the hell can anyone manage to beat Zeromus at such low levels? Either this guy was just really lucky, or he studied up on Zeromus' attack patterns. If the latter of the two is the case, then I am even more impressed. Also, I realized that this guy had to have gotten through the rest of the game with these low levels. BRAVO! I noticed that each of the characters is also at the same level as when you first find them. That is incredible! I believe this gamer has humbled all of us! *bows in great respect*

It was easier than many other LLG's, I'll give you that, but its far from easy. Plus, Vanish/Doom is banned in official LLG rules ;D Very amazing fight though. Forgive my ignorance, but how is it even possible to reach Zeromus without Cecil ever levelling?

Funny you ask that, because I was thinking the same thing myself, but not only that, also how would you be able to beat the giant wall boss (forget his name) with such low levels? =P That thing was hard even when I was in my normal levels. -------------------- "FFII/FFIV is simply the best role playing game ever created." - 1994-2006 |

I was wondering about that too. The only reasonable explanation is that they used the Warp trick to skip the Sealed Cave.

Quote (Fanatic-Templar @ 27th November 2006 01:31) Forgive my ignorance, but how is it even possible to reach Zeromus without Cecil ever levelling? I was wondering the exact same thing. Then I thought about this... Suppose Cecil was always KO'ed, and the only party members left non-KO'ed were those who were going to leave your party at some point before the end of the game. IIRC the last boss you're required to fight before Zeromus was the Bab-il CPU, so you could have everyone KO'ed but FuSoYa. It seems that when people re-join, they have pre-set levels that don't depend on their earlier levels, so before you get FuSoYa you can also keep Kain alive. And before that, there's Cid, and Yang... You can work your way backwards to figure out who you need to keep KO'ed at what point. The trick, of course, is beating all those bosses this way, and that would require new strategies. You couldn't, for example, ever take out both the Attacker and Defender of the CPU, or you'd be toast. And the whole thing is pretty impressive. :) -------------------- - Sagiri - "It is difficult to find happiness within oneself, and impossible to find it anywhere else." :) |

If FF4 stole his childhood the way it did mine*, he just knows it like the back of his hand. It's the one (and only) game that I really can play that fast. *I don't want it back, btw Moderator Edit It's a good comment, but please don't post twice in sequence around here. This might be harder to do on the GBA version. as characters that been in your party actually level up when not in the party. Why Edward, Yang, The twins and Cid have higher levels when you get them back. That also worked with Kain, Rosa and Rydia as well as Tellah (though he doesn't come back.)
On a side note. It could be easier, if you can get all the extra equipment and stuff outta the lunar ruins. I'd think the hardest thing would do is have Cecil, The twins, Rydia and Rosa. 1 power user + 4 magical users. that would be interesting for a low level challange. -------------------- |

Thats insane, ive seen videos like this before, but wow. The ff6 video was neat as well, although that one could be harder though. It looked like he was trying to use averege characters not the lowest or the highest. Neat either way

Wow, that was impressive. And the player had to have studied up on Zeromus' attack patterns...there were plenty of times when the command for Jump was input before the telltale shaking that precedes a Big Bang. And I liked the switch to Beserked Blood Sword once the player knew no more Big Bangs were coming (I assume that's why it was done, anyway).
