Biography

Cid is an Imperial scientist that invented the process of using Espers' magic power to create Magitek technology and give magic powers to humans. He is very fond of Celes, who he treats like a daughter.

After seeing Celes and the team recover the Magicite from the Magitek facility, Cid realizes the error of his ways and helps the party escape. Cid officially joins the Returners at the start of their negotiations with Gestahl at the Imperial banquet. Following the Day of Judgment, Cid and Celes are stranded together on the Solitary Island, where Cid tends to Celes during her long slumber. When Celes wakes up, Cid falls ill, and if he fully recovers then he shows Celes where he stashed a raft for her to escape. If Cid dies from his illness, Celes attempts suicide but has her hope restored when she finds Locke's discarded bandana; she departs from the island after finding a note left by Cid.
