I've recently gotten into Gin, actually, which is a bit odd, since nobody else I know really cares for it.

I've been going to amaretto since last fall as a go-to easy drink for the cold weather, as it's warm and easily drinkable by itself without a lot of effort. However, while watching a Netflix party with Gabe last night, I realized I had ginger ale as well and thought I'd give this a try, and it was great - probably still a better cold-weather drink, though, I can't see myself enjoying something so heavy in, say, July.

Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN?

It's been quite a while since I posted in here. I went through a healthy cocktail spin over the past year with the gf, experimenting with a lot of different drinks.

My favorite is a dry manhattan:

2 oz whiskey (or brandy - I love Canadian Club for how affordable and good it is)
1 oz dry vermouth (1/2 and 1/2 dry/sweet is also good
1/4 oz of cherry juice
Splash of lemon juice
A few dashes of angostura bitters (I actually like a lot of dashes)

It's yummy. I also went through a regular ole vodka martini kick. Dirty martinis are good, but only in smaller amounts of olive juice (some people, such as the gf, make straight up olive juice martinis, blech).

Has anyone had a peanut butter and jelly shot? They're fun

In a shot glass:

1/2 Frangelico
1/2 Chambord

Somehow, hazelnut and raspberry makes peanut butter and jelly. You can probably add sugar to the rim, but it's not necessary.

I like shots that taste like things that aren't alcohol, hahaha.

Other than that, I like White russians. I usually add whatever flavored coffee creamer I have, to make it creamier. Chocolate coffee cream in a white russian is awesome.

I read a pretty good article in The Guardian that featured video game cocktails. Some of them are really cool. Here's the original article. I'm definitely going to try the LA Noire one at least. Those Portal 2 drinks look bloody bloody cool.

Equal parts of:

Brandy (or fancy cognac if you're a boss)
Creme de cacao
Heavy Whipping Cream


The important part is to not skip out on the cream with...yick....milk.

I used to get rum and cokes in discos.
I used to ask for:3/4 glass coke,and the rest rum.

Asking for more rum makes it too overpowering in taste.
Vodka fanta? Wasn't there something of vodka fanta? or lime or something?
