I hate to say it, but I really am looking forward to this game being released. The first was a lot of fun, especially if you campaigned with friends. I'm glad to see they didn't change too much when it comes to the cover system, as that was already done well enough. I didn't really see any new weapons, but the chainsaw fights are definitely going to be a new highpoint for hilarious ways to kill someone.

Gee, thanks,
I feel like a total dolt now.

So what's a clear difference between the first and the sequel?

Apparently it's going to involve a lot more enemies per map. Basically, rather than just feeling like enemies can pop up anywhere, at any time, we're also going to be made to feel like we're being absolutely overwhelming by Locust forces.

New tricks in combat, such as chainsaw fighting and, from what I understand, a few more details have been added to the active reload system. Could be fun, especially tied in with the new weapons we're supposed to be getting.

Me too. My cousin will brag about being able to play it and I won't be able to. I'll have to buy a 360 now.

They said the same thing for the original Gears of War and it was released for PC a couple of months later. I think they're implying that the original release will be strictly xbox exclusive, however who can say you won't get a PC port later on?

The PC version of the original Gears comes complete with an extra chapter and two bonus boss fights that aren't featured in the original and by far the most challenging fights featured in the game, barring of course the end boss.

I'm sure Epic will cave and release a PC version.

That sucks for me too because I don't play PC games. I guess I'll have to buy an XBox for sure now. I was planning to buy one anyways, because it has better games than the Wii.

Lag generally happens as a result of people's personal systems and while it might effect some people's game play, most people have ways around that. Especially given that Epic got it's start with and has a huge following among PC Gaming, I'd frankly be surprised if they *didn't* port it over. Besides, it's entirely possible to lag while playing Xbox Live as well. I have no idea what development for Gears 3 would have to do with a PC port, as they managed to develop Gears 2 shortly after doing the same for the original game's PC Port.

Also, the graphics feature that allows your munitions to cause flesh deformation. If you watch the end of the gameplay trailer, you'll see the Brumak's face start to tear from the various rifles and cannons being trained on it.

Between that and the larger battle zones, it should be much more of a immersive experience.
