It's Christmas Eve now, we're well into Hanukkah, the pagans got their winter solstice a few days back, and Kwanzaa will be appearing in just a couple days (... right?). It's a celebratory time, even though I'm sure 2011 has been a difficult year for a great many of us. So, what are you celebrating, and with whom, this year?
My family is in the midst of the baby's first Christmas, back in our hometown. Most importantly, though, I'm celebrating that thanks to the miracle of 4G wireless service, my parents are finally able to have broadband internet out in the countryside, meaning I don't have to be glued to my phone all weekend long (I can instead be glued to my laptop). Here's hoping for a happy holiday for all you CoNners and a 2012 better than 2011, at least until the world ends! -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Like I said in chat earlier...
'Tis the season to get ****-faced, fa-la-la-la-la la-FUS-RO-DAAAAAAH I'm looking forward to New Years Eve above anything else, but all the same, it's a nice holiday season considering I'm not under a mountain of snow for once! Happy Holidays to everyone! My festivus feat of strength will be 12 days of drunkmas. -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

Happy holidays, everyone. I'm going to celebrate Christmas with my family by sacrificing a delicious roast beef on a rotisserie. And remember:

Quote (Rangers51 @ 24th December 2011 12:47) My family is in the midst of the baby's first Christmas, back in our hometown. That's eversolovely! Merry holidays and such to everyone! I'm back home in Ottawa for the holidays, and it's nice that they actually got some snow! I had gotten off the plane on Monday and found that Ontario looked pretty well the same as BC - all damp and muggy - lame. I came home for snow! But yes, white Christmas today, with some family, their kids, and pets and it's good times all around! Hope the holidays find everyone doing well and being appropriately spoiled and appreciative of all they have around them! -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Something Kwanzah, Happy Decemberween, and everything else!
Not counting my stocking, I got around ten gifts total, from all my parties: most are SE related (at least the ones from my parents). I got Chrono Cross (IT'S NOT BAD!), FFV Advance, FFX (IT'S NOT BAD NEITHER!), a Zelda edition Wii Points card, Skyward Sword (got it early on November 28), around a hundred bucks in KUH-ASH, a giant Bakugan (it's my only one, I just like to pop them open), and a bunch of other stuff. Sorry for that. Now to go hug Poshul. That wonder dog is freaking cute. |

Merry Christmas folks!
I've been spending my first Christmas away from the family this year. The circumstances are a very long story but the important thing is that I've been my most consistently drunk ever and thoroughly enjoying it. I've got a tab of Ł60 at the pub and the 12 litres of whiskey and 30-odd bottles of red wine are draining amazingly quickly (we're sharing them of course, I'm not Nic Cage and this is not Leaving Las Vegas). I also cooked the Christmas dinner for the first time with a friend. She did most of it but I think I could do it myself next year. I don't think I've ever had bread sauce before but I took a serious liking to it. I got some pretty cool stuff on the day. The best is a set of antique opera glasses. Next time I can use them is in April but til then they're another random trinket to add to my room. Went to midnight mass for the first in a Church of England as well. It was pretty good in the end. A bit less calm and foreboding as the Catholic ones I'm used to but different in a good way. -------------------- Scepticism, that dry rot of the intellect, had not left one entire idea in his mind. This was a rather uneventful Christmas. I've been busy dealing with applications, and the most notable thing we did was go to midnight mass.

Hope everyone had a great Ajoramas with their families! I visited the western part of the state (and still am!) on the 11th, and got to see my niece for a few weeks. For a city in a valley, Missoula ain't getting much precipitation, though, so that part's always nice. As for Christmas miracles, Zeus, Kwanzaabot and Zuul must have conspired to give me something great, 'cause I got a Dreamcast -- and it is fantabulous! Always nice to close the year out on a high note...Thanksgiving almost tanked my Q4. =)

I'm late for Christmas, but just in time to wish a awesome 2012 to everybody! As Rangers51 stated, 2011 wasn't such a great year for many people (my 2011 began with my grandmother's death...), but you never know what God, I mean, what the future holds.

Sounds like everyone is having a good holiday season! My Christmas went very nicely, with the customary big ol' family gathering, a big ol' family mass and a big ol' catholic mass. I got a ton of books, which is a blessing and a curse because it means that I have a 'to read' list far too long for the amount of remaining free time I have. Here's to trying, anyhow.
Hope everyone survives / has a good new year's eve! -------------------- Currently Playing : Final Fantasy V Most Recently Beat : Elder Scrolls: Skyrim Favorite Game : Final Fantasy X The newest CoNcast is up! Have a listen! |
