WARNING: Please don't say what happened in any particular episode until a few days after it airs, people can't always watch it right when it comes on TV!

That said, my favorite TV show is House. It's pretty much the only thing I watch anymore, and I might be a little bit obsessed with it. I've seen every episode, multiple times, and I still don't seem to be able to get enough. Medical shows tend to have this problem wherein they can't find a good balance between the medicine and the personal drama of the characters, but House is the only show in which I actually care about the lives of the characters.

How does everyone feel about the show? I know that a big criticism is that hospitals don't actually work that way, House should've been fired, not every doctor is pretty, yadda yadda, but come on, it's a TV show. If it worked exactly like a regular hospital then they'd have to devote a significant portion of the show to paperwork and Olivia Wilde's face would be wasted if it was buried in discharge summaries. But what does the CoN think?

I do like house. I don't watch tv but I still watch house when a new episode airs on hulu. There's really not much to say. It's a good show. Though there are a few things about this season I'm upset about, I still enjoy it.

I still watch it, though it's nowhere near as entertaining to me as it was when it was much newer. It just seems that the last couple seasons, the fact that the storylines are basically the same from week to week has become more and more obvious. It's so frequently little more than "patient arrives, team fails with six different treatments, House has an epiphany while being sarcastic to Wilson/Cuddy/the Team, House saves the day."

I do still watch it each week, and enjoy it for what it is, but I genuinely wonder how much longer they can keep it up.

I actually agree exactly with what Rangers51 said. It's a very interesting show, but it does start to feel formulaic.

I've only watched about a season and a half of House, and it was really fun to watch, but the way I watched it (episodes back to back) makes the format a little more apparent.

I don't watch TV as it comes out. I watch it on Netflix or will rent an entire season. I'm a little forgetful to guarantee I can be at the same place every week, haha.

It's called House M.D. right?
Don't mean to seem pedantic but I must insist on the correct title! =/

Yes, it is, but the only places it's called by the full title are the show's opening credits and the website.

I've seen every episode up to the most recent season, so that would mean I went through the first... six seasons? I can't really remember the numbering anymore.

It's totally a great show but I agree with what other people have stated, it's begun to feel a little dull to me. I think the show really had a great arc up through the first three seasons up until the original team split, if it had ended there I could have stayed really happy with the show (barring the few awesome episodes we would have missed since then i.e. House's Head). Since then, for every season it feels like the writers make really great strides to take the show in a different direction but it always ends up back in the same formula after a few unique episodes. Hiring a new team, the death of Amber, House being committed. And yet after all those twists it falls back into the same banter between the doctors and sexual tension between character a and b and yadda yadda.

I was waiting to marathon the most recent season, I'll have to look into where I can stream all episodes. I know Amber Tamblyn is in the season at some point which is exciting cause I like her.

I liked the show up until season 4 when a lot of the main characters went to minor roles but I've been told that gets fixed in season 5 so I might give it another go.

I gotta confess, I'm similarly obsessed - to the point where I started to think my personality was rather similar to House's - just y'know, without the genius bit that lets him get away with it...

However, I do agree that as the seasons have progressed, the formulaic nature has become more obvious. I do like that the creators are aware of this though, and do try to throw in a new twist episode every now and then.

And for me, the end of season 4 through to the second half of season 6 are comfortably some of the best episodes.

And it's not called House M.D. in countries where we do not use that title for our medical staff.

Also, FallingHeart - dude, spoilers? Some of us may not be up to date.

Ah, that explains it, cheers.

The most recent thing I spoiled aired two years ago, which I didn't think would be too big a deal for a thread dedicated to said show.

At the end of last season, I was pretty sure I was done with the show. Last year was fairly boring and mostly irritating, particularly at the end.

However, now that I have whole-house DVR, it's easy for me to keep up on it, so I decided to give the new season a try, and so far I've been pleasantly surprised. JailHouse (geddit?!) was pretty entertaining, and the fact that all semblance of the old supporting cast is gone other than Foreman and Wilson has made the show feel a lot fresher.

Worth trying again, in my opinion.

Just happened to see this thread while I was looking for another old one, and I thought I'd bump to say that they're ending the series after this season winds up in May. It's almost a shame, I'd really grown to like the new team even though the latest storyline with Chase has been irritating. That said, though, the show's done its job and run its course overall, and it's probably time even though this season's been better than last.

Actually I'm quite glad it's ending here. A lot of good shows go on for too long and end being horrible by the end with no real conclusion. I like seeing it end while it's still good. Here's hoping it goes out with a bang ;P
